We recently stayed nine days at Sand Lake Campground & Cottages with another family, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The booking process was simple, and the host Gary was incredibly friendly and responsive, which made everything even more enjoyable.
The cottage itself was spotless and very well-maintained. The spacious first floor had a large, comfortable living room with cozy sofas — perfect for relaxing in the evenings. The kitchen was generously sized and fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay.
One of the standout features was the incredible panoramic water view right from the property. Being lakeside made the entire trip feel peaceful and refreshing. The large deck, along with the front and back balconies on the second floor, offered plenty of space to unwind and enjoy the natural surroundings.
Each bedroom had its own air conditioner, and there was an extra fan and large screened windows throughout the cottage, allowing for great air flow. Everything was designed with comfort in mind.
We loved the outdoor amenities as well — from the firepit to the canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards. The fishing was great too, making it easy to spend hours on the water. It also has a lovely dog park our dog enjoyed.
Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would absolutely recommend Sand Lake Campground & Cottages to anyone looking for a clean, spacious, and scenic retreat.
This is our fifth trip here, I think, but first time over three days. We will definitely be...
Read moreWe were here at the same time last year but had a spot up in back sites (8-whatever). Last year the washrooms were in much better condition and the seasonal folks didn’t ram their music down your throat starting at 10:30. This year, well you can guess what’s changed. It’s a very nice campground but if you’re in sites 1-7, there’s absolutely no privacy and apparently no curtesy from the regulars. Even the people in the cabins (within sniffing distance) were done one by 11. Anyway, the lake is gorgeous and the water front is great giving you easy access to the amazing Rideau Lakes. We rented very nice canoe and toured the closer locks. We also went to the Westport music festival near by. Lots of fun. Just hope when you visit that the jerks in site 30 stayed home that weekend. It’s midnight and I’m still listening to their crappy music. Three hoots for no enforced quiet time and the washrooms slowly deteriorating. Could...

Thank you so much to the owner Gary for this little paradise; unfortunately, we didn't get to meet you in person, but we hope to meet you in August when we return. Special thanks to Doug & Dean, and thanks for the Pontoone; the day on the lake was just unforgettable. You are all amazing people! Thank you for everything you did for us; it was an excellent holiday that cannot be compared with anything. We don't have enough words to express our gratitude and admiration for all of you. Baby Bear is very, very cute; she is unforgettable. Our parents and we will miss you very much until our next visit. We would give a rating of 100000 stars if we could, but unfortunately, Google accepts only 5, which is not enough to rate you guys. See all...
