Me and my family were evacuated from our home in the middle of the night due to a wildfire. I called old town cottages at 3 am and a wonderful lady named Audrey told us we were welcome there and that she would wait up for us. She gave us a spot for our camper right near the bathrooms because she knew we had small children. We ended up staying for almost 2 weeks while being evacuated and we were blown away by the kindness of every staff member and fellow campers as well. Audrey brought toys over for our 4 year old, would fill up our dogs water bowls, offer us rides into town, always checked up on us and let us stay a week free of charge. She was extremely compassionate about our situation as evacuees. Their employee named Allen was also really good to us. Always asking if we needed anything and brought stuff over for our animals. He was so friendly. They really made a bad situation a lot better for us. On top of all of that, the campground itself is really nice. The bathrooms are top notch clean! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to...
Read moreI stayed in an non-renovated cabin, and unfortunately felt as though I needed to wash all my clothing immediately after coming home (after all, no matter how much you clean an old, dingy space it still feels old and dingy). However, the new hosts are absolutely lovely people and are trying their best to get each cottage renovated.
Pros: -Linens smelled freshly washed and bed was amazingly comfy and clean -Shower was hot and high pressure -The grounds were stunning and very well maintained -Communal BBQ & fire pit area was a plus -Free little library in check-in office -Hosts were very friendly & helpful
Cons: -Nothing was particularly visibly dirty, yet the space felt worn and dirty if that makes sense. I did not sit on the sofa, as it looked like something picked up in a back alley.
The verdict: I am sure camping or staying in a renovated cottage would be a 5-star experience, and I will give that a try...
Read moreI don't generally leave negative reviews but this time I think it is warranted. The sight and camping areas are very good but the cabins are getting very rough. I stayed here 3 years ago and not being hard to please, decided to come again expecting upgrades. Nothing seems to have changed in three years, same duct tape holding things together. This time the lack of maintenance has lead to unsanitary conditions which creeped out my wife and son and has family. I won't go into the details but if you are particular than you might want to pass on the cabins. Once again the location and yard as well as the staff are very nice. The deferred maintenance on the cabins is not acceptable in my opinion and feel they need to improve the cabins or not rent them...
