Yamaska Beach proved to be a delightful experience for our family outing, offering an ideal balance between relaxation and adventure. The day started on an invigorating note with a morning jog along the clean, sandy beach. The calm and tranquil ambiance of the morning set the tone for the rest of the day.

An added bonus was the bicycle rental facility nearby. It allowed us to take a scenic tour of the area, creating a sense of adventure while also keeping the kids entertained. The paths were safe and well-marked, offering an opportunity to enjoy the surrounding nature at its best.

The beach itself was a highlight. It was well-maintained and spacious, enabling us to comfortably set up our spot without feeling crowded. The children loved playing in the sand and swimming in the calm, shallow waters. The adults, meanwhile, engaged in a lively game of beach volleyball, adding to the fun.

Lunch was a picnic-style affair under our beach umbrella. While the area could benefit from more dining options, the lack of them didn’t hamper our enjoyment.

In the afternoon, we took advantage of the paddle rental service. The calm sea and safe conditions were perfect for beginners and experienced paddlers alike, adding an adventurous twist to the day. We all had a fantastic time exploring the coastline from a different perspective.

The day culminated with a stunning sunset, providing a gorgeous backdrop for family photos. Our beachside barbecue under the starry sky was the perfect conclusion to the day.

While Yamaska Beach could benefit from improved local amenities, its natural beauty, cleanliness, and the fun activities it offers make it an excellent choice for a family day out. We wholeheartedly recommend it to families seeking a day of fun, adventure,...

We rented the "ready to camp" shelter/tent for 5 nights, good bike trails, very scenic and not too difficult, we even biked all the way to Granby Zoo, that was fun to spend a day there. Don't expect a "Beach" it's razor sharp rocks, we ended up renting stand-up paddles for a few hours a day to kill time, the 'lake' is not really a lake, it's border line pond but not the worst, we still managed to swim for short periods. There are proper washrooms with lots of sinks as well as showers. Ice cream stand is also open from time to time. Hiking trails are great, especially the ones you need to access via bike ride, we went deep into the forest, which was fun. I would say 5 days was a bit much, especially with extremely intoxicating neighbour's with uncontrollable noisy children, that didn't help, I would cut it to 3 nights, bring bikes to take advantage of the beautiful paths and views. Be wary of the raccoons! They are fun to look at but can be very noisy going through your dishes, keep your area clean! The sand that you may see in photos, that's for the volleyball area that no one uses, they really should extend the "beach" area so it actually does feel like...

I camped at this park in September 2023. I was struck by the number of people who were not camping but out for a bike ride, walking their dog, etc through the campground facilities. RVers should be aware of this as it could pose a security issue. The campground is not gated or monitored. And while the park itself is gated, staff do leave at 5pm and the gate is left open (and off close unmonitored).

The campsites are clean and mostly level. The base, however, is crushed rock and sand which resulted in sand everywhere (it reminded me of camping at the beach).

If you bring watercraft, you skulls know that there is no easy access to the water and you should be prepared to carry your canoe, kayak or SUP a distance from your vehicle.

Finally, the dump station at this park leaves much to be desired. There is one dump station for the entire campground. Be prepared to wait and wait and wait. In addition, the dump station has potable wster only a few feet away. Completely unhygienic. I saw people filling their drinking water holding tank with the same hose people were rinsing their poop with (a white hose BTW not an orange...

My wife and I are senior and visited Yamaska Park from Friday Ag 18 to Monday Ag 21. Friday we missed the turn coming in from Granby and had to go around for 15-20 min thru a dirt bumpy road to be able to enter the park. There should be a sign reminding drivers to turn to the left (or right) some 200 meters before the turn to enter the Park. We were in spot 86 and got there at 3 pm, water had accumulated at entrance and it was very muddy for us pedestrians in and out of our spot. We reported the problem next day and personnel came later during the day and placed sand and gravel and fixed the problem. Great experience although it rained hard all Saturday and at nite there was high volume music that could be heard from a concert miles away on Granby to mid night. A little uncomfortable.

The Parc national de la Yamaska surrounds the Choinière reservoir, an artificial lake perfect for boating activities built on the North Yamaska River near Granby in the Eastern Townships. The campground here has 147 sites, including ready-to-camp tent rental, sites with water and electricity and more rustic sites for canoe camping and bicycle camping. You can also comfortably camp here in the wintertime by renting one of five nature cabins or a rustic shelter located near snowshoeing and cross-country ski trails. Driving time from Montreal: 1.5 hours
