I had a wonderful time at this chalet! It was my first experience sleeping in a wooden cottage in the jungle, and I absolutely loved it—I’d definitely do it again. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the overall management was excellent.

The price was very reasonable, especially considering all the extras. The host took us on a canoe tour to see the beavers at a very friendly price, and later that night—since the sky was perfectly clear—he offered a free stargazing tour, which was absolutely breathtaking.

The toilet was shared, but it was always clean and seemed to be sanitized regularly. The barbecue and cooking facilities were great, and when we arrived, the host told us we could use the kayaks for free, which we thoroughly enjoyed!

There were also fun yard games set up for both kids and adults, adding to the charm of the place.

The design of the area was also lovely—you could feel that every single item was chosen with intention. Most of the items were handmade or crafted from natural materials, which added an authentic and cozy touch to the whole experience.

Het is een soort minidorpje bestaande uit enkele zeer solide houten hutten, een prachtige yurt en een tipi. Sommige accomodaties staan dicht bij elkaar en drie hutten staan iets verderop in het bos. (Voor degene die de ervaring wil van alleen in een boshut verblijven). Elk hut met een eigen vuurplaats. En een bed dat lekker ligt. Er is daatnaast een gezamenlijke vuurplaats waar het vuur 24/7 brand en waar iedereen zijn worstjes, hamburgers etc op het rooster gooit. Gasten gaat gewoon hun eigen gang en er zijn geen sociale verplichtingen. Eén goeie ontspannen sfeer. Je verbaast je hoeveel er goed geregeld is op deze 'off-grid'-plek. Het sanitair is schoon. Er zijn twee moderne wc's en een moderne douche. Daarnaast is er ook een buitendouche. Alles gewoon met warm water enz. Omdat iedereen door de dag heen z'n eigen moment kiest om te douchen is het nooit druk bezet. Er is stroom (niet in de buitenhutten. Je krijgt een lampje mee). Er is een koelkast, koffiezetapparaat, broodrooster, kookpitten, moderne wasplaats en allei servies beschikbaar. Verder een lange eettafel, speelplek met diverse toestellen voor kinderen en konijnen, poezen, loopeend en kippen. Je kunt gratis kano's meenemen en in een mooi natuurgebied (direct naast het kamp) kanoën. 'S avonds nam Michel ons mee voor een boottochtje/beversafari. We hebben verschillende bevers en hun indrukwekkende burchten gezien. Op een half uurtje rijden ligt Nationaal park St Maurice met zijn mooie plekjes en vele wandelmogelijkheden op verschillende afstanden.

Samengevat: De sfeer was erg goed en alles was een stuk comfortabeler dan je wellicht zou verwachten. Michel, die alles heeft opgebouwd en hard werkt om te zorgen dat iedereen krijgt wat hij nodig heeft, verdient een groot compliment. Tip: boek meerdere nachten. We hoorden verschillende dat gasten die één nacht hadden geboekt daar achteraf...

This place is truly special. The cabins are beautiful, the shared bathroom is spotless, and the natural surroundings are absolutely pristine. Best of all, it’s just steps away from the river. Michel, the owner, is a kind and genuine host who welcomes guests with authenticity and warmth. Every evening, everyone gathers around the bonfire to share stories and laughter—it creates such a wonderful sense of community.
