Chalet Leon sur le lac CITQ 311632 — Hotel in Sainte-Marcelline-de-Kildare

Sadly my experience doesn't reflect the ones posted by the others. While the chalet and location are excellent with a very beautiful lake and very fancy looking chalet, the place is simply not well maintained. As shown in the pictures, we had the following detrimental issues:

The jacuzzi was unusable. There was plenty of dirt in the water and it was very blurry and unclean. Despite the instructions to leave a solution after every use, I believe previous guests never did it and the owner never did a full cleaning or check of the jacuzzi to make sure guests close it after every use. It was one of the highlights of our stay, but sadly we had to skip it. The place has quite a lot of cleaning issues - we saw a eaten spare rib left in the balcony, there's multiple beer cans around the area, the shower door haven't been cleaned in a while and very dirty. And the dome "window" had someone's name written in the dirt since who knows when. We also sadly couldn't use the sauna. This was more our fault, but we couldn't figure out where the match/kindling was, and as the sauna is a "wood" version, you have to feed the heat yourself. I'm not sure why the instructions weren't left for the sauna and the owner does take a while to respond depending on the time of day. There's little nitpicks too: they don't provide any paper towels, coffee, shower gel, bathrobes, slippers, etc. The towel holder in one of the bathrooms was falling apart too

Overall I think we would have normally fallen in love with the chalet, but due to poor maintenance, it felt like we were in a unclean and poorly maintained hotel. For the price of around $1600 a night, I would look elsewhere.

P.S.: There's an EV charger in the chalet which was a very pleasant surprise. I suggest the owner mentions it as we were struggling to find one in the area and were very happy...
