I don't typically give bad reviews... But DAMN, I can't not inform the next unsuspecting victim. I drove such a long way to camp here and it was such a huge disappointment. First thoughts pulling up to the campground were "NO, THIS CAN'T BE IT" followed by laughing so hard we cried because really, what other options do you have at that point. You've already committed to the stay.
Let's start with the pro (yes, singular): Every staff member I had an interaction with was superb, they were all friendly and helpful! Whoever is doing the hiring, keep it up because your staff saved it. We ended up switching our campsite to another that was available (197 is the only campsite I saw that I would recommend- although our tent and car were immediately swarmed by spiders to making a snuggly home) and the man who helped me switch made the process very simple and was as helpful and honest as he could be, thank you so much!
Cons: TRAIN. HORNS. ALL NIGHT. Bring your earplugs! 🫠🙃
Almost every single campsite is completely visible to everyone around you. There are no trees to give you any sort of privacy. If you like brushing elbows with a stranger while camping, defo recommend.
Any campsite that says it has a waterfront view. LIE. If you enjoy a good ol' 7 foot grass/reed wall view then maybe this is the place you've been looking for. These sites are also extra $$ which is insane considering the misleading descriptions of their sites.
Firewood is rather expensive. Typically, we try to buy the wood from the park we stay in but it's not worth it here.
Beach area is extremely tiny and a little swampy. Time to rub some more elbows whilst you beach it up.
All in all would never go back, do...
Read moreVery disappointed with our stay at Riverside cedar campground. We had the most beautiful sight and it was quite private it was site 197. However you are charged extra if you have a second vehicle and the cost of firewood is ridiculous you are also not allowed to bring your own firewood in
The first night was nice and peaceful on a Thursday however the next evening on Friday there was a large group who parked three trailers in the site next to ours. They had at least five large trucks and about 15 to 20 people on their site to till least 2:00am and there supposed to be a six person maximum and all guests are supposed to leave by 9:00pm.this was the first weekend I was taking my kids tent camping. One of the neighbors came stumbling upon our site and my husband found him just outside of the kids tent at 1:00am in the morning. They were doing karaoke and banging loud drums till at least 2:00 a.m. we complained to the park ranger two times and after the second time we made him call the opp. The park ranger then told us he was going to evict them in the morning and ban them from ever coming back. These people were still there for three nights they were never banned and I believe they were never ask to go home. This completely ruined my kids first night tent camping and I'm...
Read moreHave been coming to this campground for 20+ years and have seen it deteriorate slowly throughout. Do not go to their 15amp service on a hot day with other trailers around. Trips every breaker in site and until just this year they have unlocked the breaker boxes..finally otherwise they were locked! Last year we died of heat and the excuse was the system is old and cannot handle the overload yet the fees per night have gone up and up. The dump site on the east side has been out of commission for now 3 years. Facilities closed without warning and the remaining ones leave a lot to be desired for without an employee in site or a number to call in case of an emergency. But for the man in charge, the "seasonal kids " they hire are full of themselves, disrespectful and have an obnoxious attitude like they are doing you a favour by being there.||The lots are big and not badly maintained if you don't mind cleaning twigs everywhere or breaking a dead branch or two. So unless you are passing through I would not suggest spending...
