My daughter was here as part of a youth activity that required out of town guests to stay here at night for the weeks events. It was clean, it was quiet, it had friendly staff that we encountered. The public bathroom was large and clean. It was well stocked and tended to. The elevators are a little older so that can maybe be intimidating for those not used to elevators and limited space but they were functional. There was plenty of parking outback so it seemed to be a decent spot for the conference hall for events. I did not stay long but my daughter had no complaints or concerns other than her door and frame did not seem to fit the hole on the wall. Being two young girls in the room, this situation was already not quite appropriate but even more so when youth are staying without family as part of a group event. Concerns were expressed but not much could be done. I am sure there are practical solutions or ideas on how to address this. The doors themselves have the paint coming off them so appearing ghetto should not be a justification to do nothing to begin to look like a slum lord. Again, everything else was just pleasant and fine, but this door frame issue: not cool.

I was pleased overall 👌🏼 When I walked into the main lobby, then to book a room just for the night , The woman who I initially met whom had also helped me with regards to checking in & also informing Myself and husband . about there Breakfast which is available until 11 am following morning⭐️ She gave Me a twenty dollar off stay if & for our next visit 🙂 Which Honestly I wasn't complaining😉!! Anyhow so we both are satisfied with our room ! Also if your here for work ect .. this hotel is located in the perfect spot!!!area!!, Malls, Restaurants, Supermarkets, ect.... . Also fair price for your stay ! Friendly/ Clean Suite .🙂

Breakfast in the morning which was included also A $20 off voucher on my next stay. The breakfast was fresh an brought to my room that cost $8 , We checked out the following day at 2:00. Overall I had a nice relaxing stay.

The hotel is great and staff are very friendly. My first two nights were great and very quiet BUT... the last two nights were terrible because of the noise from the main floor. Friday and Saturday nights there was two different weddings in the reception rooms downstairs and the music was extremely loud Friday night and went on from 10:30pm - 12:00am. Saturday night the music was loud and went on till 12:30am. I stayed on the second floor in room 203, very close to the rooms were the wedding receptions were being held. I couldn't get to sleep because of the noise. I went down stairs and told the front desk and they couldn't do anything about the noise or move me to another room because no other pet friendly rooms were available on a different floor. There seems to be a double standard, if a guest staying at the hotel was making this kind of noise than you would be asked to leave, but a wedding can make has much noise as they want and not be asked to respect the guest staying in the hotel trying to sleep. My dog also was traveling with me and was staying at the hotel and when I checked-in i had to sign an agreement that the dog wouldn't disturb the guest or the hotels business by braking and etc. I guess if you pay for one of the reception rooms you don't have to sign a agreement like that and pretty much anything goes. This situation is a failure of the management of this hotel. I would have given 4 stars, but considering the last 2 night I gave 2 stars. It...

There's a lot good about the Capital Hotel: location-wise, it's only a few minutes drive from the airport and equally quick into the city, but also good for exploring sites further afield. The room was spotlessly clean with all the amenities you'd expect, such a large TV, fridge, hair dryer, coffee maker etc and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast at the integral Jack's restaurant was also good value for guests and there was a good choice of breakfast items available. Also, I arrived really late due to a flight cancellation and it was good to see the doors were locked overnight, and they were good at looking after my luggage when the airline found it the next day.|Some things to be aware of: although Kenmount Road is very busy and I had a room right at the front above reception, I didn't really notice any road noise overnight. However, it is almost impossible to turn left out of the hotel and you need a lot of patience and luck to turn left into the hotel at busy times, due to the traffic.|One of the two elevators was out of action whilst I was there so there was generally a long wait or a long walk to the stairwell. |Also, it's advisable to book a table for breakfast, or else you have a long wait, although this didn't seem to help much the second day, as it still long time to get seated. And, at check-out there was a long line of people, so my advice is : do stay here but allow plenty of time for breakfast, checking out and getting up...

I've stayed at the Capital Hotel in St. John's over the years with first time being in 2005 just after a year of their opening. In recent years since 2021 been there for work or personal reasons to the city. Overall it's good place to stay. Staff in the restaurant are very nice. Front desk staff are too somewhat. I've stayed at the Sandman, Fairfield and Holiday Inn too where the front desk staff greet you each time you enter. Staff at the Capital not so maybe because of the relation of the desk to the entrance. Meals are good in Jack's Restaurant. The hotel can do with some modernizing. Chairs and tables in the restaurant show their age. Most of the rooms I've stayed in at floors 2 to 5 all have signs of wear and use. Their toilets' are in need of replacing depending on room. Some flush very slow. Made a note about the same room I was booked in May of this year and was also in the same room again last month. Nothing was done about it. Nothing against the staff who are fine folks. The owners need to pay more attention to maintenance. Parking lot could be improved too. some of the parking places have lines that haven't been painted since 2010. Guest parking seems to compete with local trade shows and conventions. Can be tricky at times finding a place to park depending on the season. Overall have no issue going back but if other options came up for the same price I may...
