We knew this place and had fond memories of it as a restaurant 30 years ago so it was an added bonus to see it renovated into a B&B. Quaint in the best sense of the word. Friendly service from reservation to checkout and an excellent breakfast in a lovely front room. I held back from five stars as the room could use a comfortable sitting chair, but that would make it crowded. However I expect they would have brought one if we asked and the shower was uninspiring but I generally expect my fussy tastes to be met, so this says more about me than the hotel. Although it is a small community with few restaurants you can definitely eat well. We were in the “bald eagle” room which had a double bed and a nice ocean oriented view that was pleasant but really was of the shops across the street. I read reviews that said the front room was noisy from the street and we were offered a quiet room in the back if we wanted but on a cool fall day with our windows, it was decidedly not not noisy. Conversation in the hallways was quite audible in your room and presumably noise you make yourself would carry...
Read moreMy husband and I had to 'book in a hurry' as we needed to make an unexpected stop in St. Peter's to have dinner with a friend who just happened to have his sailboat docked in the harbour. We were so happy the Pepperell Inn had a spot for us that included breakfast. The keyless entry was easy to use, the location was great and our twin beds were nice and comfortable. Our host happened to be there when we arrived and we had a nice chat with Cindy. We had been on the move from Newfoundland and were anxious to get home to Waterloo, Ontario after almost three weeks away so we wanted to get an early start the next morning. I asked if there was a muffin or something we could grab to take with us as we were planning on leaving by 5am the next morning. The next thing we knew, Cindy came along and handed us a paper bag with two breakfast sandwiches, napkins and ketchup. Since there was tea and coffee in our room, we were able to be on our way quickly and not have to stop until our next fuel-up. What a nice...
Read moreRoom was very clean with a somewhat comfortable bed. Unfortunately not sound proof at all; luckily due to off season low occupancy it was not too bad, that being said the road traffic noise was prevalent. Despite the Pepperell Place Inn being a bit of a distance from friends we were going to spend time with & things we planned to do over a few days, we specifically booked it because breakfast was included. However after booking 3 non refundable days (2 weeks notice required to make changes) it was disclosed that the breakfasts would not be available until the beginning of the tourist season after mid May. When I spoke to Cindy she was very apologetic but not willing to let us change to fewer days or cancel. In fairness to your customers that book online, I feel we are entitled to updated information in order to make an...
