The Nord Canoe Trip was a great experience canoeing in a larger group (but if you have more than 7...extra people will be put on kayaks). Staff were friendly and did their best to be accomodating of delays, etc. The waters are beautiful! I really enjoyed being able to canoe and take breaks every now and then to take in the scenery. The one suggestion is maybe another lunch spot where there is some shade. However, I can't complain much because the staff did all of the hard work cooking in the blazing sun and heat. My friends and I ended up climbing back down near the water where there was some shade until the food was ready. Make sure you pack your sunscreen and keep reapplying! Good filling meal of perch, potato salad, etc. I thought that it wouldn't be enough food but it's more than enough food! All in all, I have no regrets choosing it as one of my bachelorette/birthday events. :)

Terrible experience renting here, the outside patio table and chairs were coated in this disgusting yellow dust that the owner was supposed to have cleaned but failed to do so, also the owner was constantly intruding by coming into the rented space randomly through some secret door. The guy also charged us a fee for cleaning even though we had to clean the place before we used it and obviously after we cleaned up too but this guy wasnt satisfied with the cleaning we did he was expecting us to clean it better than he gave it to us. I would not recommend this place to anybody.

Very nice place and there is a lot of activities can be done from the same location, the management would help you to arrange hiking kayaking and lots more, this place is only 12 minutes away from Blue Mountain Village and 21 minutes away from Collingwood.. The rooms are very clean and well-maintained all the appliances are in perfect condition this place is unique, quiet and on top of a hiking trail, trees are surrounding this place and for me this is my second time here and I will do it more and more again

NEVER EVER GO HERE!

ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MONEY AND NOTHING ELSE.

I made a booking at Bowering Lodge via booking.com. However I decided to call off the trip when my wife got a cold.

Fearing the worstnand trying to be responsible. I had requested the property to cancel my booking fearing COVID however they said they will not be able to cancel my booking and my card will be charged.

In the next couple of days my wife was feeling better and we decided to keep the trip as on schedule. We had infact confirmed the check in time and was approved for it as wwrll.

I drove 200 kms from my house to get to Bowering Lodge to find out that Bowering Lodge had cancelled my booking on their end with zero information provided to me. They had already accommodated other guests in my booking.

I was denied accommodation saying they had already filled my booking with other people. Basically they had kept my money inspite of confirming my booking and also took money from other guests to fill our accommodation.

I had to take the long drive back home. Taking up this issue with Booking.com, they end up twisting the story by saying they had requested negative COVID test documents from me to provide me accomodation.

Just to keep my money, they end up LYING to Booking.com saying they had asked me documents. They asked no documents whatsoever. All they told me was that my booking was already filled with other people since I mentioned I was cancelling when my booking was clearly confirmedm They said they can't provide me and alternate accomodation as well since the lodge was booked in full.

NEVER EVER GO HERE. All they need is your money. There is ZERO EMPATHY towards the customer whatsoever.

Filing a CUSTOMER PROTECTION ONTARIO on Booking.com and this property for the terrible inconvenience that they have caused me in this matter.

My recommendation to the travellers....

I do not recommend the Bowering Lodge for accommodations for the following reasons: ||- The property felt awkward, the parking was not planned and you had to make sure you didn’t block the numerous other cars.||- The water dispenser tap broke the second we tried to use it, I am not convinced it wasn’t already broken, so we had to buy our own drinking water. ||- The elderly owner questioned the times we’d be returning to the property. It was odd, it felt like we had a curfew. We were barley in the room during our stay since we were mostly at family events. ||- The weirdest part was that our room was connected to the room beside it. Anyone could access each others room at any time! It did not feel safe at all. It made me question even more his reasoning for asking when we would return to the room. ||- We could not keep the AC cold enough. We kept it off when we were not in the room as a courtesy because he had a tube that filled a bin with water and it needed to be emptied. Because of that it was always hot when we returned to the room to sleep. It was also very poorly placed beside the bed, and blew straight at our heads all night. It was extremely loud and made it difficult to sleep, which was really all we needed this room for.||- The shower had weak water pressure and was difficult to wash off soap. ||- When we checked out we told them about the broken water tap and we were told it wasn’t a problem. A few days later I got a $30 charge on my visa! Not only did we have to buy our own water, they charged us for their broken machine. I actually would have paid the fee if it was discussed properly at the time, instead of a shady charge after the fact without even telling us. Be carful who you give your credit information to!||Pay the extra money and stay in...
