Hinton Centre Campground — Hotel in Town of Hinton

Seemed to be a great place for the price point when I called to book; $25 for a tent site, no hook-ups and free showers, however the experience I had was not worth the discounted price in the long-run. I had woken up early after spending the night tenting to take a shower before hitting the road. I was startled not once, but twice by the attendants. First by a man (who I presume did not mean any harm, but there is nothing more frightening to a young woman than a man walking in to the public restroom shouting while you are naked in the shower when you were not expecting anyone to be around). Not five minutes later I was startled again by a woman who came up exceptionally close to shower curtain (our faces collided when I peeked to see who it was) to ask if I was a camper and from which site I was from (the campground must have had problems in the past with people taking advantage of their free showers). This may all seem mundane, but I was scared something was going to happen. If anything this is just a reminder to practise good people skills, give you patrons the benefit of the doubt, don`t be rude and practise...

This is a beautiful Wooded urban campsite run by the City of Hinton. Well located with large level private sites in the woods (yet with lots of sun). The grounds are clean, firewood is included in the cost as are hot showers in very clean and modern washrooms.

People have commented about the train noise but honestly, they are not a bother. More silent that you would think.

If you have used Municipal Campsites before, this is one of the best.

It would be nice if they had a set of hours to run generators as there were a few inconsiderate people in...

We recently camped at Hinton Centre campground and we were impressed. My family and I had a great day despite arriving late and in a bit of rain, We found a campsite, easy to access and quickly settled in. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, we felt welcomed. There was firewood onsite, though we had come prepared with our own, knowing the weather called for rain.
