I called Eagle Wind RV Park to book a reservation for myself and my brother. The woman I spoke with was friendly at first and said there were plenty of spaces available since it was early in the season. She booked us in, no problem. About 20 minutes later, I got both an email and a voicemail from her canceling our reservation. She said it was because we weren’t “upfront” about being pavers. She added that there were no sites left and that—even if there were “one or two”—they definitely wouldn’t be going to us because we were dishonest. Dishonest? We were never asked anything about our jobs. How can someone be dishonest about something they were never even asked? I don’t understand what difference it makes what someone does for a living. Whether I’m a paver, a plumber, or even selling myself on the side of the street—if I’m paying my rent and keeping my spot clean, how is that anyone else’s business? If I were hauling in heavy machinery or planning to wreck the place with tools and equipment, that would be a different story—but we never said or suggested anything like that. We were simply honest customers, treated unfairly. I’m half Indian and I also work in a blue-collar job. I don’t know which one was the “problem” here—but either way, it feels like discrimination. Maybe she thought we were too “redneck” for her RV park because we work in the trades. Or maybe it was because I’m half Indian. When I later looked through the park’s 1-star reviews, I found others reporting similar treatment—including accusations of racism and people being turned away for reasons like being filmmakers. There’s a pattern, and it’s not a good one. Whatever way you look at this, it’s discrimination—plain and simple. Whether it’s based on someone’s ethnicity, occupation, or perceived social status, it’s wrong. And it’s deeply unprofessional. I strongly caution anyone—especially if you’re blue-collar, a minority, or just not “their kind of people”—to think twice before booking here.

This is, by far, one of the best RV parks I have stayed in during our full time RV travels. The park is immaculately kept. The bathrooms, laundry and pool are spotless, as is the hot tub. There are some long term tenants in motorhomes and trailers in the park, but their places are kept equally as tidy. The hookups are convenient, however, due to good water pressure I would recommend a pressure regulator. The electrical box is at the front of the site so you need a long power cord, or two, for connecting. Sites are gravel, but you do not get dust or fine dirt from it. There is a slight lean towards the road in some sites, but nothing our levellers could not compensate for. There is a common area fire pit and a couple open grass areas that are great for playing with the kids. The sites are generous and have cedar hedges separating each from the neighbors. You can't get better privacy. Tall trees surrounding the park provide shade in the morning and evening, but during the day it is unencumbered making it most enjoyable. An automated gate at night makes for a secure facility, the code is provided at check in in case you are out late. There is shopping near by for stocking up and personal interests. Quick trips into Abbotsford or Langley are minutes away. Book ahead as there was rarely an empty spot during our four week stay. We will be back here again without hesitation.

The Eagle Wind RV Park is the 109th stop for us and we stayed for 2 weeks. I would rate it 4.5 overall. Conveniently located off the Trans Canadian Highway, the park is small (60 sites) with approximately two thirds longer term residents (the sites are well-maintained). You feel very safe here and I like the security gate that closes at 9:30 pm with a code entry if needed. The inner road is paved and the sites are gravel with tall privacy hedges and there is large grass area in the middle plus a decent one at the front of the park. The sites are level and the staff rake them after departures. But with the power pole at the front of the site, it made parking the tow vehicle with our class a motorhome a little challenging. The staff and longer term residents are very friendly. If you are near the front of the park, you will have highway noise but nothing that bothered us. The facilities are clean and they have a great heated pool/hot tub. One note – be aware if you have timid dogs or are training your dog. There are many dogs off leash or tethered to the rv unsupervised and charge to the road although the policy on the website indicates dogs must be leashed. Tends to be the longer term residents – gets very tiring having to run the gauntlet every day. Connectivity (late morning): park WiFi 96.8 down/19.2 up; Verizon 486.0 down/38.9 up; T-Mobile 31.0 down/25.8 up.
