Kiosk is Amazing! It is a VERY quiet place for people who enjoy nature, you will not find a playground here so dont be surprised when your only options are swim , boat, hike, bike or stay at the site and relax . We go every year, but i will tell anyone who goes if YOU/YOUR kids/family are going to be loud or listen to music you have an other thing coming ! You will be told to keep it down and if you don't listen after your warnings you WILL be told to leave and possibly fined while the other campers watch and shake their head at your stupidity while praying to the camp gods that you go to camp hillbilly from now on because no one ever goes camping thinking " i really want that kid to wake up at 7am and sing let it go for the 80th time"

If you are going to be loud find some other place

*the staff are friendly *A cute shoe stealing fox has lived there for the last 4/5 years *Not much trail selection , you follow the rail bed left or right *no and i mean absolutely no cell reception once you are about 20km from the park (payphone available next to the office, for the kids reading this its what people used before cell phones ) ** the grounds are clean and maintained they have a ropped beach as well as a huge lake small less, than 30 sites in both sections (kiosk is a very popular jump off site for back country) NO SHOWERS , 2 sets of flush toilets in the main camp ground and vault toilets very limited basic needs available at office so dont forget things its over an hour drive to the nearest town for supplies (or there's an outfitters 30km from the park depends what you need )

Overall my favorite...

I took my family camping in Algonquin park at Kiosk Campground July of this year. The Campsite itself was beautiful and right on the lake! Campsite was spacious and had a great view of the lake. When we got to KIosk we had to wait for our spot as campers who were supposed to be in next door campsite had taken our campsite without asking or even telling the camp staff. When we finally got to our campsite we had to clean up the mess which was left behind. Our neighbors to the left of us 7 young men completely ruined our camping experience by playing loud music (no music zone) talking, screaming and putting their lives at risk by going out in a boat ( no life jackets) only 1 knew how to swim, 10:30 at night. at They were screaming and yelling across the lake and creating a scary night for my 2 young kids. I and my neighbor to the right approached them several times to be quiet and stop scaring the kids! complaints were made by many campers and the Ranger did finally come around at 2 am to quiet them down ( the first night) the 2nd night the Ranger was nowhere to be found. Despite complaints nothing was done to educate these young men on camping edicate, (quiet, respect, etc for other campers.) They did tell me however it was thier first time camping, LOL! I realize its not the fault of camp Kiosk when bad campers arrive, but they need to shut these people down immediately when people's quiet camping experience is being ruined! I would go back but to a more secluded...

Beautiful, quiet, and scenic camp ground. Very clean, the compost toilets seem almost brand new (they might be). The park wood was actually dry (!!!!) and burned very well. |We went for a walk - all the sites are absolutely beautiful with great terrain and they are very, very large. No sites are crammed.|The lake was actually warm and incredibly clean, lots of walk out spots and a cute little beach. Staff was helpful and friendly. Bugs were not bad at all. It rained one day and the sites drained/dried quickly.||We rented a canoe for the day from Algonquin North Outfitter. They delivered it on site and picked it up, was great and easy service!||Some cons or things to remember:|There are no trails on site, however you can drive about 15-20 mins north to the Eau Claire Gorge for a beautiful, easy hike. You can also see the pottery place with great pieces.|The grass sites had a LOT of geese on them, including being covered in feces from them. |There is absolutely no cell service. I do not recommend coming with busy teens or kids, there are no “events” like at other parks (we prefer this as it is very quiet but some families like the activities). Don’t forget to pack anything because nothing is near by. ||All in all, great park, the lake is huge and lots to explore, but remember to bring a book and for sure go for a canoe/kayak ride, otherwise you might not have...

Kiosk itself is a really great place to launch your canoe and go for a paddle. We were camping on Laudy lake and it was extremely peaceful, really quiet and extremely relaxing. In saying all this... Be aware that the actual campground was absolutely insane with cars. I honestly have no idea where everyone was. There are only 26 campsites and there had to have been triple that of vehicles. During these "pandemic" times it would appear that since the lift that everyone is scrambling to provincial parks and they are literally over run with folks. So if you're looking for a quiet relaxing camp; I would suggest packing up your canoe or kayak and paddle as far away as possible lol. This is in no way a reflection of this park or any park as it's great that folks are able to experience it (that's what it's there for), but the amount of cars and people was overwhelming.

The campground is simple and quite deep in the sticks with no phone signal for at least a 15 minute drive out. They have flushing toilets and a great access point to a big lake. Fishing was non existent, not for a lack of trying and furthered by not a single sight of a fish in a couple days on the water. The site was relatively clean and for the most part, the sites by the water had manmade stairs to access the beach from each site. The water was very cold in mid May but relatively clear. Workers seemed nice. Overall a decent site, however it lacks adventurous hiking trails and phone signal. Would recommend if you want a detox from the concrete city and are willing to rent a canoe or will be bringing one.

We arrived here on Thursday July 19 from the GTA. It is a 4-5 hour drive depending on your stops and traffic and whatnot. We decided to go to North Algonquin because we heard it's alot less busy there and it was true. It was fairly quiet. We had campsite 16 right by the lake and the bugs were not that bad. Just keep some big spray handy and long pants and sleeves for the evenings. They have canoe rentals and boat (20hp max in this lake). There is a small waterfall you can get to not far from the park entrance. They also seel ice at the office to top up your coolers(4$). There is a good half our drive into the park on paved road from trans Canada Highway.
