Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Val-d Or — Hotel in Val-d'Or

They do not like Americans. Why you may ask? Had a job in Matagami, power was out so they couldn’t rent me a room. Called each hotel in Val-D’or speaking English and each hotel said they had no hotel. I thought this was strange as it was a Tuesday night and the town including all hotel parking lots were empty. I continued to call using my work phone and after the call was answered (at the same hotels as before) I spoke Dutch, German, and Spanish. After some confusion I spoke broken English and suddenly rooms were available. When I show up speaking without the accent no rooms were available. I travel the world, I understand the anger that comes with someone who doesn’t want to learn the language of the country they are going to. The languages I have learned have all branched off of a love for the country and a desire to communicate with the locals and never have I ever encountered such a heinous community. This has been festering under my skin for so long now and I cannot possibly let this...

I think you should stop deleting the poor ratings. I stayed there in September only to find out that i did not get my deposit back. Which is what most people complain about. My stay would've been more welcoming if I hadn't find men's beard on the towels. The house cleaning services, obviously just wiped the counters after putting away all the clean towels.

It is honestly discriminating for this hotel to tell someone who suffers from skin disease that it looks like someone was stabbed. It's a good thing that Wemindji Corporation will be notified and I still have the picture of the towels I sent to the receptionist. Yes, it is still in my sent folders too!

I will most likely be taking justice for what I have discovered in my visa. Over payment!

I guess our business is no longer welcome at Wyndham... tried to book a room at this hotel... the website says pets welcome under 100lbs ... but the lady behind the counter . I think she did not like the way i looked our because i come from Ontario maybe.. but she said she could not give us a room because of my UNDER 100 lbs for 2 dogs... we have plenty of choices for hotel rooms working for a well known company with special rates. I think we will stay at any other brand there is... but Wyndham.... lady was RUDE...NEVER BEEN treated that bad anywhere else. She should stay home if she does not want to...
