Way Point is a place that I have stayed at in the past multiple times and unfortunately, this year will be the last. ||||While booking this year’s trip for my family, there were multiple website errors when I went in to book the second (of two) sites that we needed for our family trip. There were 3 RV sites available at the time, including the one I was choosing. I received an error message saying I had to go back to choose another site. When I went back to book another and received another error message when choosing it. Going back again a second time, all the sites appeared to be booked so I was unable to book a site during my required dates. At this point, I already had a tent site booked for half the family and now could no longer get another site so I had to go in and choose other dates to book. Now we were left with a campsite we are unable to use and due to their completely absurd 50% cancellation policy and their system errors, we will now be out $291. I choose new dates and booked two new sites. Now we had three sites on two separate dates. This all happened within 15 minutes which seems crazy that they don’t have a full refund policy within a certain timeframe, or due to THEIR system issues. A half hour later I went back to look at our booking and decided to check on the sites on the first set of dates and ALL the sites that appeared available to begin, but then were “booked” when I went to choose them were all back to being available.||||I immediately contacted the Way Point to make them aware of the system errors and to hopefully get refunded due to this being a problem with their system and not the user. Once I eventually received a reply they were extremely unhelpful, had some of the worst service I’ve experienced, and stopped replying once I asked to cancel the first campsite. To make it worse, their campsite increased the pricing by $40 a night this year, making it $139 a night (and we need two sites) which is hands down the most expensive campsite we’ve ever stayed at. May as well rent a house on/near the beach in Tofino where you get a lot more for your money. ||||We will not be returning after this years trip which we are now obligated to go to due to their horrific refund policy and will NOT recommended this campsite for friends or family anymore. Read moreWe are staying in the yurts this weekend for my birthday and I am very disappointed. For the price we could have stayed in a full cabin elsewhere in town and it would have been worth it. The yurts themselves are poorly equipped. The 'futon' listed as one of the amenities, was actually just a long cushion with an absolutely disgusting sheet on it to be placed on a dirty floor. There is no seating in the yurt. We brought the old brown stained patio furniture inside to sit on, it's the rainy season guys, a little seating would be worth the time and effort. The floors were absolutely horrendous upon arrival. I'm sorry, even if it is a yurt, for $229/ night in the shoulder season the place better be spotless with nice linen. There was no potable water provided, so the few nalgenes we generally carry with us had to constantly be filled up away from the yurts/campground. Again, I understand these are yurts, but for $229/ night, the least they could do is provide a water jug for potable water. We have camped at the campground quite a few times before and that for $50 a night even that seems steep for being told very rudely you can't park anywhere near your site or have access to potable water. I'm sorry, having drinking water available to your guests should be a priority for the prices paid. The road is not maintained at all, there was even a vehicle in a ditch as we drove in last night. The "french press" provided appears to be fixed with spray foam or some sort of expanding polymer and does not seem functional. Good thing we brought our full camp kitchen set up orr this weekend would have been a disaster. There is very little information about what is in the yurts on their website, now I know why. There is very little in the yurts, and what is in there is broken or dirty. I realize space is a premium, but I've stayed in some lovely yurts in the Kootenays for a fraction of the cost($120/night) and they had much more ammenities, shoot, some of the cabins in the middle of the woods have more ammenities than the yurts.
I grew up in Ukee then moved for school. We spend at least 1 weekend a month in Ukee, and often give our recommendations on where to stay and eat on the coast. I've always wanted to stay at the yurts since they were built. But I can't even reccommend them, or the campground now. You have absolutely lost a customer Wya. We will not be back. Wya point is way overpriced for the services and ammenities you receive. You are better off spending your money at any of the other campgrounds or...
