We rented a site for a month and I am actually writing this from that site. The first 3 weeks were enjoyable for the most part with the exception of some of the staff. I will call them "the owners husband, and the owners husbands friend". I was at the store and had ordered wood about an hour prior to leaving and it showed up while I was gone so it was my wife and sons that received it.
The kids were playing quietly and my wife was napping on a hammock which was hidden behind some towels. She wakes up to hear the guy (the owners husbands friend) yelling at our 4 year old yelling at him and I quote "tu vois ben que té dans mon chemin tasse toé d'là!". Rough translation is "your in the way get the fu** out!".
Now my wife gets up and came out from behind the hanging towels says "Hi" and get's no response. So she remains polite and goes to start help unload the wood and promptly gets yelled at saying "That's enough lo, you only paid for $20 ... enough! There was just a couple pieces of wood left in the cart. He could just have said ok that's it. How was she supposed to know how much is $20? Why would he bring our load of wood +7 pieces?
My theory is that he got surprised and did not know my wife was right there, caught made him mad. Probably those extra pieces of wood were the load but he cut it short just to have a reason to yell. When he left my wife said Thank you have a good night in French as he speaks French, no reply he just walked away.
I go to confront the guy outside the office. There is a language barrier though as he speaks very little English and I speak little French. This is where the owners husband enters stage left and asks what is happening.
I tell him and immediately he is on the defensive and saying I have known this guy for 25 years he would not do this. I answer well he did, I say that you guys are running a business you should be professional, they both just laugh....nice.
He than goes on to change the subject by implying that we were stealing power and wood which was completely untrue. I have paid for our power use in advance and also for 2 days that we used it prior to paying and I have the receipts to prove it, again...classy.
This comes just 1 hour after I had paid them $245 to extend our stay and $20 for the wood. Pretty sure we were 1 of their best wood customers averaging $5 a day in wood. Did I mention I called for wood when it was raining and they refused so I went to load it up myself.
Now to be completely transparent on the wood stealing accusation. When we first arrived here we saw people leaving and than other people going to take any leftover wood, it happens all the time here. We were out on a short drive to explore the campsite a day or 2 later and ended up just behind the main site. There was a large field and fire pit that was still smoking, the people had just left and there was a stack of wood. So we thought nice some wood we can have and start to load it up. Than here comes owners husbands friend... witha scowl. He informs us that the wood is there for the next people that are coming. Ok no problem we put it back, apparently that is a group site and things work differently, an honest mistake. Since than their attitudes have been poor.
Now owners husband begins with the personal attacks on to of the false stealing accusations. He proceeds to tell us we do not watch our kids and let them go wherever they want. Completely untrue, we keep an extremely close eye on them but any of you as parents know it just takes them a few seconds to slip out of site especially 2 little boys of 4 and 6. Not that they caused any problems when they slipped out of the allowed area, they were just riding their bikes around like the other 20 kids doing the same.
I say to owners wife you guys really need to learn how to treat people and run a business properly. He replies and I quote "I'm not here to be nice, I am here for respect" ...what?

Read moreI called well in advance to reserve a place @ Camping D'Aoust for three months @ an agreed price, on site #65 which included full hook-ups. When we arrived we discovered the price was approx. $6.00 a day more than what was on our written quote. Tired & not knowing the area, we agreed to this NEW PRICING.
The site which they gave us was Beautiful, Large,@ well treed, shaded, level, private site. However the electrical was NOT 30 amps full time as stated & after some discussion with one of the owners, {who stated there must be a problem with my coach as there electrical was fine} I hired my own electrician to verify my coach, who stated there was nothing wrong with the electrical on my coach, however the problem is with Camping D'Aoust's electrical system not being able to supply all of the camp sites.
The owner then suggested, I not run - {a} my air conditioning, {b} put my fridge on propane, {c} put my water heater on propane also. I then asked him, does he top up the propane tanks for free in lieu of in sufficient electrical. His answer was NO!.
Then came the problem with water, a regular garden hose, coming from the back of the public flush toilet, buried under ground over to my site sprung a leak, so they changed the hose. This second hose unknowingly to me had been used for transporting some sort of fossil fuels, eg. kerosene, gasoline etc.& contaminated my water system on the coach. He then gave me a third hose in-which he stated came form his swimming pool & as he has had this hose for ten years & never had a problem. After tasting the water again, I requested he change this hose as the water tasted like a swimming pool. He stated why don't you drink bottle water like everyone else. He finally complied and gave me a new hose. I then discovered that the water was from wells on their property which had a large sulfur contain't. {If I had been told this prior to our coming we could have brought our Reverse Osmosis system with us.}
Other than that they, keep the place very clean & the animals clean & well fed and the owners & personnel were very...
Read moreWent there this weekend of Sept 20 to 22 2019 for 2 nites. The site has very very mature tree's, in fact there is shade on almost all of the sites. What I find annoying where the oak tree's dropping the acorns and hitting the roof of the camper in the middle of the nite.. but hey, that's nature letting you know she's still there.. Pro's: fairly big, some what rustic if that's your taste. The owners are friendly and welcoming. Even the helpers where the same. for 10$ they gave enough wood for 2 nites, and he even gave us dry starter wood. For those complaining about the wood and delivery, maybe it was during hi season.. we where there during low season. The site was not too far from Hwy 40. The bathrooms and showers where extremely clean for the age. The park was nice for the kids, and the small little farm was fun for the kids as well. There's a dwarf horse they let roam freely, very gentle. Con's camp site needs a bit of TLC, toilets and showers need a reno. I found there was a bit of sulfer smell from their water, but very little, we still drank bottled water. We found the camp to be some what tight when manouvering through the site, I can't imagine backing in when the park is at full capacity. We had some problems flushing our tanks at departure, seems their tanks maybe full from the season. Because of low season, the pools where closed, the restraunt was closed, etc.. the site was running at bare minimum.. 1 thing that bothered me the most was when I asked if there is reception at night, and was told they are open till 9pm, when we arrived at 730pm, the main office was closed. I'm glad we where able to find the owner from the seasonal's partying near by.
In all, its a nice site, close to home, I would go back for short weekends and at low season. Not sure how tenting...
