Our families rented 5 cottages this August as part of a family reunion. Three of the cottages were lovely but 2 of them were shabby, had mice and the waterfronts were swampy. It was not so much the accommodation that was problematic, but rather the on site manager, Tracy, who was defensive and abrasive. We understood, logically, that the no extra visitors to the cottage rule did not include those of us under the collective rental agreement. Tracy insisted it meant that we couldn't visit each other during out stay. We spent several thousand dollars to enjoy a family vacation together which would obviously include sharing waterfronts and campfires. Tracy was there the entire week, sent 3 emails to my daughter and me, and called twice, was watching us, walking by the cottages and we felt we were under surveillance and harassed. She later sent messages that 4 life jackets were missing and she was going to withhold $200 of our security deposits to replace them. Since she was away and relying on a friend to look for them, I suggested it would be more professional to be certain by checking herself. She insisted we had taken the life jackets home and we would be charged and that she resented that items were misplaced and in the wrong cottages. I expressed regret for the inconvenience but pointed out that we had experienced some inconveniences ourselves. She admitted that one cottage had mice but not two and said we were lying about it. She did eventually find the 'missing' life jackets but never apologized for her accusation. She also said her website was 100% accurate in it's description of the cottages. We looked at the website and saw no mention of 'mice', 'traps' or 'swamp'. She responded to the report of a leaking pedal boat that it was just accumulated rain water. My son in law took a video of water gushing in through the pedals while he was on the lake with his 3 year old. The water alarm went off the first day of our arrival at Finlana cottage which meant we weren't able to use water for a day until the septic tank was emptied. This was the fault of the previous renters, apparently, who "used too much water." Again, the lake was very pretty and most of the accommodation very satisfactory but if you are hoping to rent more than one cottage as a family or friend vacation, this is not the place for you. If problems arise, you will be told it's your fault, your problem, the fault of the previous renters or you're lying. We'll certainly...

Awful experience with the owner of this establishment. Will never consider to deal with her again under any circumstance.
All was great on booking of the cottage but when we had to cancel 75 days prior to our booking due to unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances - I was shocked to discover the unethical and unlawful breach of agreement signed and reviewed at the time of booking.
She offered us a week at a cottage that normally rents monthly and named her price for a week. Although it was more than other cottages and had less amenities - we agreed as couldn’t find anything better at the time. She then sent a clear agreement to my email with terms of 50 percent of total cost deposit ( for us $900) upon booking and FULL REFUND , if cancelled prior to 60 days of booking! After 60 days NO REFUND , if not rented. Admin fee $100 applies and deposit is refunded ONLY if she rents the cottage to someone else.
Her website states a different policy all together and was never mentioned to me to review when I booked. She said that her IT guy made a mistake and didn’t update the agreement she sent me via email!
Even though she admitted to her error she still kept $100 knowing it’s against the terms of that agreement!
I have never dealt with someone as unreasonable and as unprofessional as the owner of these cottages.
A contract is an contract - and both parties should be held accountable ! Gave her 75 days to re rent it in this environment when there is no supply and demand is through the roof for cottages this summer. She will easily re rent it in hours not days and she still kept $100 as a greedy business woman!

Read moreThe cottage was really great. My husband, and 1 year old child had a great time. It was exactly what we were looking for -just a getaway. There is a wood fire stove, within the house - so we ended up roasting hot dogs, and marshmallows, indoors. The top loft, had a DVD player, and a large selection of DVD's... within the ottoman. My husband and I, were able to relax on the upper loft and watch some movies, after using the wood fire stove. We were close to Lachute - which is a quaint little town. But, we ended up traveling to St Jerome, to take advantage of the hiking trails. We would most certainly rent his cottage again - but perhaps, during the summer time, when there is access to the lake - that is across the street. All in all, we had a really great visit - and I would recommend this place to anyone.
As an aside, we were able to cook and clean - as the kitchen is fully stocked. There is a hair dryer, soap, and toilet paper, within the bathroom. Towels are located in the upper loft, within the cupboards, against the wall.
Not sure I can say much else. There are a ton of blankets around the place - in case you want to get cozy, and snuggle near the fireplace.
We had a great stay. Unfortunately, we were not able to use the fire pit, located just behind the cottage. But that was due to the amount of snow, in the backyard.
The lake is actually just across the front yard, and on the other side of the street. There is a paddle boat there, and a small...
