For our family reunion in July 2025 we booked the entire site for 3 nights. The facilities are very well cared for and they have pretty much thought of everything. Jane and Daan responded promptly to every question we had and their info package is comprehensive. Definitely 10/10 on communication. I was worried the lack of electricity/fridges might be a problem for our large group but we managed with a bit of planning, a couple of trips into Vernon and ice from the nearby convenience store for our coolers. There are 2 toilets and 2 showers which were modern, clean and well maintained. Since we were a bigger group we brought one trailer, which we parked in the parking lot, and a couple of our own tents. The tent location is below the rest of the site but they had wagons for taking the gear down and the "kids" were okay making trips up and down the hill. The individual sites are gorgeous and well designed to provide a bit of privacy with lovely seating areas. There were no stairs down to the outdoor seating area at the yurt and the path looked a little tricky so we didn't use that one. The yurt does have a lovely balcony overlooking the lake. There are several types of seating provided with sails and bamboo pergolas for shade, but we also took our own lawn chairs making it easy to chase the shade. The shared terrace provided a great spot for our group to gather and there were a couple of folding tables, a two burner cooktop and 3 charcoal bbqs that we used for our group meals. The site has gravel paths and the parking lot has bigger rocks, so sturdy shoes were definitely helpful for those who aren't as agile. It is so picturesque with views of the lake from every spot and we even had a mama deer and her little twins visit. In the afternoons we piled into cars and headed 5 minutes down the road to Killiney Beach which was also perfect. We had an amazing time and definitely...
Read moreWe travelled for nearly three weeks across the US and Canada, staying in some lovely hotels, Airbnbs, and one not-so-nice lodge, and this was by far our favourite stay! Such a special place.
Unfortunately, we were delayed by a 7-hour road closure and didn’t arrive until 10:30 p.m. We were worried about arriving so late, but communication via email was swift and reassuring. When we finally got there, we found the site has one cabin and three tents. The cabin and one tent were occupied, so we crept in quietly, but the moment we opened our tent, we forgot how tired we were. Inside was the most stunning setup, beautifully styled and filled with thoughtful touches.
We sat outside with a glass of red, gazing at a spectacular starry sky I haven’t seen in years. The next morning, we enjoyed a refreshing shower, breathtaking views, and a peaceful breakfast with a cuppa before reluctantly heading off.
Every little detail was appreciated; from the hot water bottle to the extra blankets. A couple of suggestions - it would be nice to have bathrobes, which would be handy for nipping to the loos and showers. And a mirror in the tent or at the kitchen sink.
We truly wish we could have stayed longer and will most definitely book again. Thank you for being so accommodating and creating...
Read moreWhat an experience!! This was our family’s first time staying in a yurt and it did not disappoint! The yurt was the perfect size for our family of four (2 adults, 2 young kids, 10 and 8). The view from the patio is beautiful, we ate breakfast and dinner on it each night. The kitchenette is perfect, has everything you need for simple camping meals with a 2 burner propane stove, utensils, a decent size pot and two pans. We brought our own camping BBQ for grilling.
The property itself is well maintained and it is easy to see that a lot of thought was put into it. The terrace has a beautiful view of the lake with a fire pit and separate sitting area. The outdoor bathrooms were clean and well-stocked. The outdoor showers were a highlight for our family, our kids have never been so excited to have a shower lol.
The walk to the lake is not very long but it is down a very steep hill, the walk back up was quite tiresome in the hot heat. Also, the path to the beach at the bottom of the hill is quite narrow and bushy, not great if you have a lot of gear. We ended up spending two days at the beach at Fintry provincial park. Nice beach and not too busy, it was easy to find a good spot both days.
We would definitely come back to stay again and would recommend...
