Just staying here and it was a joke. We booked a family room because there were supposed another person with us at we were attending local charity event, but plans change. When we arrived, since it was just the 2 of us, the owner asked if we wanted a smaller room with just one king bed and we agreed which I thought he would charge us the lesser prince. That was not the case the room we stayed in is priced at 178 plus tax for a weekend check in Friday check out Sunday. We were running late and I did inform the hotel we would be booking in after 5pm, we checked in at 7 pm the first room we were given was said to be a none smoking room even though there was no none smoking sign on the door and a butt bucket right next to it. I unload our cooler but as i was doing so I started to have trouble breathing which is a sign my body gives me around the smell of cigarettes I examined the room more closely and you could see the yellowish colour on the smoke detectors and the ceiling. We asked and change rooms. The 2nd room was cleaner but still questionable signs of the motel state made them self shown. We didn't have much time to really check the room as we had to go set up at the charity event. When I booked online the rate was $250. Plus tax for the family room with 2 bedroom in April. When we arrived and had time to really unpack and look around the state of this place was really something. I've stayed in place's that have done renovation to try and upgrade their appearance, but this place was totally run down. Photo to follow. There were dirty hand prints on the white bedding, the fridge was dirty inside and there was a water bottle left in it. There was hair in the shower, mine is green and my husband is light brown this was dark brown. The room set up was confusing. There was a glass coffee table in the corner, and we found a few bugs in the bathroom and in the main bedroom. There was dirt along the bathroom wall and on the dresser. I didn't take my sandals off at all and i wish I would of brought flip flops for the shower but I forgot. There was only 2 pillows, 4 hangers, and half a roll of tolet paper and 1 towel. No extra blanket or pillows. We had to ask for extra, lucky enough the night lady was out side and able to get us some. The hair dryer looks like its from the 70s and is so high up i couldn't use it. The room was mog pog with renovations, and was just so like omg why even bother fixing it up if your not going to do it right. As stated photos posted to google. After our stay i called the motel and asked if we would be getting any kind of refund because we were charged for the more expensive room the owner told us no because our stay was over and when he asked us if we wanted a smaller room we said yes and didn't ask at that time or he might of given us the different price. Very sneaky and dishonest. Bet you any money the owner will follow with a comment about something how the room met our needs and we should be great full. We check out at 7:30am as we had to get to the charity event. When we told people where we were staying they actually said omg you poor guys and asked why we chose them. The only reason was because we booked into the event last minute to be a vendor and it was the only place that had space. Would not stay here again. Edit Noted: See knew hotel would respond with a comment. no we didn't book the hotel last minute we book to attend the event last minute, but as the event is a huge event all other hotels in the area were full. We had to check out early 7am to go to the event and run our booth, we were tired AF and exhausted from working our back sides off all weekend. We barely said two things other than Morning and thank you, not sure how you call that a happy checkout didn't think about it till after words that's why we called and asked about the price. Still untruthful about giving/offering us a smaller room and keeping the payment for the larger one. If I would of known the price would not have changed I would of stayed in the bigger one. Anyways My photos...
Read moreWe visited Woodstock & stayed at the Tulip Motel for a weekend getaway with family and friends and I’d strongly recommend this place. It’s just off the highway and so easy to locate. And, if you’re on a budget this is just what you’re looking for. I spoke to the owner 2 weeks prior to our visit & he was so patient and polite & answered all my questions related to the accommodation, things to do in Woodstock etc. since it was our first time. Travelling with a toddler and a large group of family friends I knew would have been difficult hence the questions. I booked 5 rooms and he ensured we got the best rooms possible. The service was great since he fired up the BBQ for us and also set up chairs / benches for all of us sit around and have a good time in the evening. Which we certainly did. Even though the motel was at capacity it was so quiet. We got top class service / response time since we were a large group asking for stuff like extra bedding, pillows etc. All done with a smile. Overall I’d definitely go back there again when I get a chance to. It was amazing and would like to wish the Motel owner and staff the very best and Kudos to all the efforts you put in to make our stay a memorable one....
Read moreI wouldn't give this motel 1 star, but I had to give at least one which is too much. Problems... shifty service and you have to fight to get your room cleaned and get clean towels. Ant infestations in different rooms. Black mold, a bucket under vanity sink because they don't want to fix the plumbing and guests are liable if the bucket overflows because you're not aware of the bucket . Cracked paint and cigarette stains everywhere. Shotty bed that have blocks underneath and rolling out from the wall. No working phone for room. Can't use the closet because it's blocked by a large night table. Very bad television connection, barely working most of the time. The furniture looks like they picked it off the side of the road after sitting outside for weeks and weeks. No toilet paper. The owner brags about how he has so many connections and he doesn't care if you complain there's no one listen cause he thinks he's above the law. Tell your friends and family that this place is an extreme dive and the owner doesn't care about his guests and is breaking the law in soo many areas. The Westmount Motel is run by the same type of people and is just as bad and I wouldn't...
