Over the last twenty odd years I have visited several motorcycle only campgrounds, some great places like Thompson’s Eagle Claw in Alaska and some pretty crappy places, but I have to say that Yukon MC stands above them all. On the Yukon MC campsite you will find quiet treed campsites that each comfortably accommodate two tents and bikes or if you prefer there are several heated wall tents available to rent, then you will start to find the things that puts Yukon MC above many other places. The washrooms are simply the best I have found on any campsite, each one is a private three piece bathroom with unlimited hot shower time, I cannot overstate just how much of a luxury this is on a road trip, I have stayed at sites where you have to feed coins into the shower and hope for a mediocre lukewarm dribble of water to wash in, the worst I can recall was a rundown place I once stayed at where it was an extra US$5 just for a shower. There is a two bay, fully equipped, workshop for guests to use if they need it, one bay has a lift bench and there are facilities for tire changing or any other work you may need to do, one “long term resident” I met there was waiting for a replacement driveshaft for his Beemer to arrive as his ride from Iowa had destroyed the UJ on his. On the site you will also find a laundry and a well fitted out cookhouse for guests to use. What really sets the place above any other I have stayed at is that there is a Bar n Grill on site, coffee and breakfast is served from 7am and was great each time I tried it, the evening meals and selection of beer were consistently great, don’t have the wings as an “appetiser” unless you are really hungry as they were the best and biggest wings I can remember having anywhere. All the staff I met there were very friendly, helpful and welcoming including the Manager who is a lover of fine Italian motorcycles as you will see when you get the wifi code, he also rides a Yam FJR when he gets...
Read moreI love this place. I’ve stayed there three times and I will be staying there at fourth as I ride back on my motorcycle to the lower 48.||Even though I have enough hotel points to stay for free in town, I prefer to spend money and stay in one of their glamping tents. They have power to charge things, they’re comfortable, and clean, it even comes with bedding and towels if you don’t wanna unpack your stuff, the list goes on and on.||The place keeps getting better from the time. I first stayed there three years ago. Now it has a shop complete with a motorcycle lift and just about every tool you can imagine. They now have a handful of private washrooms to shower and use the bathroom, also a laundry room , a cook shack and they’re also building a a covered place to socialize around a fire.||There is also a restaurant and bar on site||The owner, Bruce, has poured his heart and soul into this place and it shows.||I think what might make the place the most special is the people you’ll meet if you stay there. You’ll meet riders from around the globe and the sense of community is touching. ||I rarely give out five star reviews, I would give this place...
Read moreI tented here one night after picking up a new sprocket and chain from Whitehorse and what a great decision. This is a campground owned and operated by bike enthusiasts. I was hopelessly lacking in the special tools and advice needed to put on the new riveted chain (was expecting simple master link with clip in the OEM package). They helped with tools and experience and got me back on the road the next day with zero time lost in the schedule. The campground is intended for bikes. No cars, campers, trailers will fit on the paths, keeping traffic to a minimum. It is still partly under construction, but my spot was perfect. In the background of the pics you can see spots for tents, but they also have wall-tents with beds if you don't want to set up your own gear. The restaurant was fantastic. Pictured is the lasagna - very nice !!! These people really care about their place, and your experience with them. Just awesome. Thank you guys for making this a memorable part...
