There are 5 houses built around a central pool. The pool at both ends has a child friendly step level. The beach is just beyond the pool past a couple of small hedgerows. The beach whilst we were there was sandy but sadly with a fair amount of both rubbish and washed up seaweed etc. We did spend a bit of time with the kids picking up the rubbish hoping to help show them about treating our world a little better. On entrance to the water itself you'll find its shallow with some seaplant life and maybe 30m out you'll start to see the corals. We had a paddleboard so ventured out on it to get there. Kids loved it.
The house itself. BBQ outside, ours didn't work but the next houses one did. They've seen better days. The 3 rooms in the house were all good size and setup nicely. There was a pull out bed in the breakout area upstairs and another small folded up one downstairs in the room there as well. The kitchen was good and functional though quite short on cutlery and plates. No kids stuff so bring your own.
TV has sport and some movies with Flow.
We had a 3 kids with us all under 5. It worked well and would still work well when a little older as well.
The drive from the villa to rum point is possibly 5 mins a few extra to Kaibo. About 15-20 to the East End. There is a small shop not far away with limited range of items. Nearest petrol and small shop is maybe 8mins drive. There is a Fosters IGA Express about 15mins away in...
Read moreEverything you need - they have it!!! No complaints for this establishment. - Washer/dryer, grill, wifi, comfy beds, beach towels & blender are just a few things they provide to make it easy to relax. Closest beach is Rum Point & Starfish point, both a 5min drive and pretty quiet family beaches with good swimming and snorkel. The Beach in front of property is walkable, better areas for swimming however since this is the north shore, very windy and not the best for swimming, lots of rocks. Takes a good 30mins to get to 7mile beach which is 5.5miles of white sand and great snorkel especially at cemetery beach. You'll need a car for this place but ideal for a big family or even 3 couples since house has a 3/3 separate Bed+Bath - plus a roll away, a pull out futon, and 2 sofas. Layout well thought out and private quarters for all with walkin closets and modern beachy decor. Four other houses contain the same thing all have good views of water, very quiet property and surroundings. Having a huge kitchen to use really was nice since eating out costs nearly double than U.S... buying anything on this island is very very expensive, more than any other carribean island. Snorkeling and diving in their crystal clear waters might make their...
Read moreWe had a terrific visit to Ocean Paradise, choosing to stay in the "Green House" directly on the beach. The home is clean, comfortable and nicely appointed. The other homes are very close by in the compound and share a pool, but we never felt cramped or that it was not private.
The property management team could not have been easier to deal with and they stayed in touch via email before, during, and after our stay. Check in was super simple and "contactless" via an entry code you receive in a welcome email.
The pleasant and attentive attitude of everyone in Grand Cayman — from the airport employees to the restaurant servers to the security guards we met in George Town — was very impressive. Everyone was welcoming and accommodating.
The property itself is about a 45-minute drive from George Town and Owen Roberts International. Terrific vistas and a couple of excellent nearby (a few miles) restaurants (Be sure to try Kaibo Beach and Tukka!). This is truly a seclusive vacation, but there is a convenient ferry nearby at Rum Point that makes daily runs to and returns from George Town for a "day in the city."
I could not recommend this property or Grand Cayman more highly. The visit surpassed all...
