Urumqi Yema International Business Clubhouse Hotel — Hotel in Ürümqi

It is my final day at Yema International Business Hotel and I must say I have never been happier to be leaving a hotel.||To be fair, there were some things I did enjoy about this hotel. More like a museum than a hotel, it is filled with beautiful collections of sculptures, statues and wooden carvings from all across Asia. In addition to this, it has its own stables with a huge variety of horse breeds from all over the world. This hotel is definitely worth visiting if you are ever in Urumqi.||However, I would warn anyone about staying at this hotel. My experience has been far from satisfactory and I would not stay here again. Firstly, despite describing itself as an "international business hotel", there are almost no staff here who speak English. Luckily I was visiting as part of a forum and was designated a helper who spoke the language (without this I would not have managed). Check-in was a nightmare as it took them almost an hour to find my online booking (even though I had a confirmation email).||The bedroom was nice enough (apart from being very dusty and not sound-proof). The staff however were not. Perhaps the worst thing about my experience at this hotel was the housekeeping staff. It seems that the 'Do Not Disturb' sign does not have the same meaning here (the opposite meaning, in fact). Staff will come into your room as they please, whether you're asleep, feeling unwell, naked or on the toilet (made even more awkward by the fact that the bathroom door is made of glass..). They ruined my sleep this morning to take my chair! I could hear them bursting into all the rooms down the corridor seizing chairs from unsuspecting guests, seems there was suddenly a chair shortage somewhere else in the hotel. And also they will make up your room every day whether you like it or not. I was feeling very ill one day and just needed to rest but they refused to leave me in peace until they could make up the room (as if they would be executed by firing squad if they failed to do so). In my opinion this is unacceptable, privacy is an important factor for me and in this hotel you will get none. Also, as I write the housekeeping staff are screaming to each other in the hall through their walkie-talkies, preventing me from getting any sleep).||I will admit that the food at this hotel was very good but there are no menus in English. What kind of international hotel doesn't cater to international guests? I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who can't speak Chinese, stay at a proper international...

I stayed here and I can really recommend it. Behind the museum is a park where you can see yurts, an awesome horse images museum (great for kids, the oil paintings are like national geographic photos) and horses. At the yurts there was a local with a stone eagle. There are also some iron meteors and some huge silified trees.||The hotel is a bit like a museum, with plastic models of chinese militaria (tanks, planes, ...) silk road items, a tea room with some pretty cool stuff, and your usual jewellery shops.||The staff is kind, but only one (!) speaks a little (!) english.|Really room for improvement there.||Now to come to the item that could have really turned my hotel stay into an expensive one, when you check in - you have to pay a 800 rmb deposit. Guard this paper well, you only get your money back, when you hand this paper over. I 'lost it' in my room carelessly leaving it on the table. It was 'gone' when I returned and the room had been tidied. So I spent 20 min sweating at the reception when they told me I had to give it to them. They send a member of staff to the room to check for it and he found it and all was fine. So some people are friendly everywhere. For these all items six stars.||Now for the three caveats I found (minus one).|The rooms are not very sound proof. This may be a problem when people have sex ( the hotel provides free condoms as part of the amenities, potentially correlated to a girl calling single travellers about 2 min after they enter the room to offer massage services ... What skill of forecasting ... Or a staff member having sent a wechat message !), or when some idiots talk in the hall at 2am, and your Chinese isn't good enough to tell them to bugger off.|The shower doesn't get really hot, luke warm would be pushing it as a description.|The aircon cannot be fully switched of, temperature control yes, but not the principle function of ventilation. If you are sound sensitive, maybe ask them if this can be further mitigated, as it keeps buzzing through the...

Останавливались здесь дважды, и оба раза продлевали проживание сверх запланированного. Потому что очень романтичное местечко. Это не просто отель, это и салон, и бутик, и музей. И просто место с замечательной энергетикой. Оказавшись внутри напрочь забываешь о времени и полностью абстрагируешься от самого города. Только выйдя из отеля в город понимаешь где ты находишься ( это я об особенностях этой проблемной для всего Китая провинции). Здесь потрясающий интерьер. Это не про комфорт даже и не про помпезное "дорого-богато". Здесь есть своя атмосфера, присущая только этому месту. Предметы старины и элементы китайской культуры из разных эпох, живопись, скульптуры, старинная утварь и изделия из нефрита, античные греческие изваяния и работы скульпторов в современном стиле (я не знаток всех направлений поэтому пишу как могу :))), масса потрясных вещичек, ваз, мебели, котлов, ворот как в древности - короче все проживающие только и делают что бродят по отелю и фотографируются на фоне всей этой прелести. Сами номера выдержаны в том же стиле, что и весь отель. Все из дерева, камня и зеркал. Кровати такие как в бунгало, с деревянными балками и балдахином, но не в дворцовом стиле, а все такое натуральное и в общем как на островах себя чувствуешь ))). Все что нужно - все есть в номере. Мини-бар отличный. Мы останавливались в номерах, в которые чтобы попасть нужно несколько раз выходить на улицу чтобы добраться до нашего комплекса. И в любом другом месте это был бы ужас. А тут просто самое то. Это необычайное совершенно место. Мы бродили по галереям, забредали в старинные чайные комнатки или музей и т.п. Само название отеля означает что-то вроде мустанга, необ'езженного коня. И расположен на улице Ахал-Теке (ахалтекинские скакуны чем-то известны и прославлены). Всюду в отеле есть изображения этих прекрасных животных. В отеле продуман стиль на 10 баллов из 10. Это не гостиница в которую закатили мебель (подешевле или подороже в зависимости от звездности) и развесили картинки над кроватями и в ресторане. У этого места есть свой дух и это заставляет возвращаться сюда. В лобби за ресепшеном стена представляет из себя карту древнего Китая. В лобби есть беседки. Между комплексами курсирует машинка для развозки жильцов. Но бродить самим по галереям куда интереснее. Завтрак включен и он очень хороший, просто очень. Рядом с отелем находится посольство Казахстана. Также есть стилизованные под старину в казахском стиле ресторанчики. Вблизи отеля нет ничего стоящего где можно поесть. Даже удивится можно, оказаться в такой колоритной провинции и нет ни лагманханы, ничего. Чтобы попробовать что-то из местных блюд (нормально, но не супер) - нужно спуститься по улице Кунмин вниз и не доходя до моста-развязки свернуть в подворотню - там есть кафе Малина - где можно и плов, и шашлык, и лагман найти. Отелю ставлю твердые 10 баллов, за чистоту, интерьер, питание и за цены. Чемоданы персонал помогает донести до номера неважно в каких комплексах и галереях бы ни находился, без чаевых. Но вообще руководству под такое концептуальное заведение можно было бы еще вышколить персонал. В целом замечательные впечатления и воспоминания. Обязательно при случае...
