Good enough location walking distance to Daguanying metro station. A few stops from Beijing west station and straight line to universal studios. Alright room rates but better if you have Hilton honors rewards. There’s also swimming pool - small but sufficient closes a bit early at 10pm, so you kinda gotta rush your day to fit in a swim, fitness gym, restaurants, concierge that collects your packages too, more organised. Service staff are pretty nice, polite and helpful. Rooms can be a bit dated and corners not generally cleaned or just aged. The worst is the standard rooms, strong cigarette smell. Even after changing rooms, the cigarette smell starts to form after a while. Somebody is disregarding the room policy and smoking. We complained but it’s hard to check who apparently and the aircon system is centralised so the smoke will travel. Terrible. There must be improved air filtration system. Executive rooms are better. Maybe less rooms in that level, bigger rooms, and less possibility of smoke emissions… Strange dated design for standard rooms to have glass see through bathroom design that you have to activate the auto blinds to cover… what a waste of time. The breakfast is not bad, many options from western to local. Taste is alright. Not wow not bad. The “snow beef” in the Chinese restaurant is nice. The Peking duck at the cbinese restaurant also not bad if people stay here and want to eat that. Pretty Penny but not as expensive as overseas. Mostly business people staying in this hotel but I guess it’s good for families traveling too. About 30 min by metro to most attractions. There’s a shopping mall, Starbucks, 7-11, Bubble tea etc just beside the hotel. Convenience for the residents.

Air conditioner worked very well. Room was not big, but ok for me. I had afternoon check out, but anyway they canceled my card without my knowledge earlier so I couldn't enter my floor nor my room, and I had to go back to reception desk and wait in a row so they could activate my card again.

I was customer of Double Tree Beijing by Hilton from March 21st to 27th this year 2017 for a congress and some business meetings. During my days there I took money from the ATM machine (service announced in the hotel webpage) inside the hotel lobby by the restaurant. In particular I took 3000 and 1000 RMB. My surprise when trying to use the money is that part of the money was false, in particular I realized (and was verified in the hotel) that there was 12 100RMB bills that were not real. Perhaps were more but I paid to anyone without realizing. I went to explain the situation to the frontdesk and was asked several times if I gave my money to anyone that could change it. Of course I did not, I am used to business trips and I am very careful with the money abroad, no one touched my wallet, nobody touched the bills and the ATM in the Double Tree hotel was the only place where I took money in China… So, the situation is clear…. I was told to go to the bank owner of the ATM. I explained the ATM was a service of the hotel so should be the hotel the one taking care of the problem…. But with no result. I requested anyone of the hotel to go with me, but the understanding was terrible… Finally, the bank took the money (1200RMB) and the hotel manager told me I would receive an email to check if it is possible a refund in one week… Today is one week from this day with no communication. I have stayed in some other double tree like Manhattan and St Louis with good experiences, but this one is too much. I hope this can get resolved, not for the amount itself but for the felling of being stolen (apart from paying 1 week of staying...

One of the worst Hilton experiences I've had in a long time. As a gold memeber, I always choose Doubletree and its generally good. This time, it was terrible. It started with check in. There was clearly people infront of the clerk who was waving me in. Instead of clearing the people, she expected me to fight the crowd and squeezed in. It was uncomfortable having strangers standing next to you.||Second, she was not articulate. I guess there is some free water thing but she can't explain it well and I have to pick some combination.||Then she blames me for arriving too late so they don't have the room I reserved and gave me a room with lesser amenities.||Then she forgot to give back my passport. Only until I got to my room did I realize that she has my passport so I had to go back to retrieve them.||Then she forgot to collect a deposit from me.||Then when I got into the room, they messed up my last name so I couldn't get on the internet. I call front desk and whoever answered gaved me some attitude.||Oh and there are dead bugs that looks like cockroaches in my bathroom.||And when I told the front desk that I was not happy with all of these. They just smiled and says that my clerk is some intern. No apologies.||Yeah, this...
