I have stayed here many times now as I often fly into Beijing late and prefer to stay at this hotel rather than driving all the way into Beijing. That being said, it is not as close to the airport as one might think given the name of the hotel. Not only is it at least a RMB 40-50 taxi ride from the hotel, but the notoriously unhappy Beijing taxi drivers picking up passengers at the airport are even more unhappy when they find out you are only going "halfway" to Beijing. Once you get there, you are greeted by a friendly staff and my room is always clean and prepared well like a Holiday Inn Express usually is. The biggest disappointment of this hotel for me though is that the breakfast is consistently the worst I have ever seen in a Holiday Inn Express. I guess I get spoiled staying often at the Beijing Dongzhimen Holiday Inn Express where the breakfast is almost a "western" style, but the quality of the "ham" and lack of variety of eggs (boiled, or boiled?) is a problem at the airport zone. On a previous visit, I met a gentleman from Holiday Inn who was inspecting the hotel and i took a few minutes to explain to him that from a customer's perspective, the breakfast was horrible, but I guess it was not an issue for them as it was exactly the same on my recent visit. Anyway, there are not a lot of western guests and I suppose the breakfast is satisfactory for the Chinese guests, but I think that the purchaser at this property is really buying low quality and cheap food for the breakfast lineup - just my opinion but you...
Read moreThe location of the hotel is definitely far from city center, however it is a good choice for air travelers who need to get to the airport early in the morning. ||||When I arrive also at the hotel, I asked about the shuttle service and the receptionist and I was told that there is no shuttle bus services. I think this is a very important issues that the management need to make clear. No clear direction / information about the shuttle services which can be a very very important service for those who choose airport hotel.||||Nothing much around the hotel, only seven eleven convenient store and 2 small local restaurants (which obviously dont speak english at all).||||The room itself in the hotel is decent, nothing to complaint about. Comfortable bed, good room size, good water pressure in the shower. The only small problem I had during my stay was that the guy working on night shift did not speak any English and when I had problem with the AC in my room, he cannot explain to me the problem. However, he did change a room for me (this second room has an unpleasant smell and squeaky bed, unlike the first room which is very comfortable).||||Breakfast in the hotel was also very standard, nothing is satisfying for those who is looking for a decent western breakfast. ||||Overall, the hotel provide a decent stay for those who need to get to the airport early in the morning. If you are staying for leisure / sightseeing, this is definitely...
Read moreTaxi that we rode on were complaining because this hotel is too close to the airport. Going to the hotel, car or taxi needs to pay just going through the gates. What's with that. There is also a parking fee. You would think that since were guests of the hotel, vehicles dropping us of would not pay for anything.
As I said, this is close to the airport. Far from the City, far from the the Beijing wall. They have tours for the great wall of China though I did not avail.
Room was very new. I had no trouble sleeping in this hotel since sheets and pillows don't smell unlike for some hotels I've been to even though an IHG hotel.
Taxi is a little difficult to get. If you need to go around and don't have transportation, you need to arrange and book a taxi. If there were shuttle or car hires readily available, this hotel would have been better.
I do not fancy the food. Breakfast was okay. Keep away from the juices. Instead of being sweet, it's bitter. I gave them a benefit of the doubt but each day I ate breakfast, its the same bitter taste. There is no dinner place close. They only serve food up to 9pm. Not even a sandwich.
Location is a PRO and a CON. Would I recommend this hotel? I'm not sure. If you want to be close to the hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the city, then this place is for you.
Staff is very...
