Mercure Beijing Downtown — Hotel in Beijing

My wife and I had to stay in BJ for three weeks. We originally booked three hotels, one for each week. In the end, we stayed in this place for the entirety. I think I am in titled to give some opinions about this establishment.

Let us get the not-so-good out first. The room needs some update. The carpet and the shower enclosure definitely need to be replaced. We stayed in the none smoking building but I caught several patrons smoking. The location is OK with a walking distance of a huge shopping mall.

OK, now the good part. It has self operated washer and dryer. 4 each. And it is free. It comes with free detergent, softener things like that too! The machines are new and works great. For us, in September BJ, it is a life saver. And there is a good size pool. Much lesser known to customers. We use it everyday and almost always only two of us.

Will I come back in the future? Maybe if I run into this long stay situation again.

Oh, forgot to mention, the price is also cheaper compare to other...

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel and enjoyed the hospitality of the staff.

Due to the upgrade of the hotel, our initial penthouse booking was downgraded to individual rooms of 2. But the reservation manager, Ms Wu Di was very helpful and thoughtful to ensure we are well accommodated at the hotel. She even came out from the office to assist us during our check in. Platinum membership from Accor was recognised.

Room was perfect except from the guy next door who was smoking every night and morning. When confronted, he denies. But the housekeeping team responded quickly and helps to ventilates the lobby. The housekeeping team at Lv5 deserved to be recognised for their effort. The room was clean and vacuumed everyday.

Breakfast was alright because it seems repetitive for the 4 days. No woah factor to it.

The dryer and washer was a plus point but long queuing during peak hours.

The concierge team was helpful and responsive. Appreciated the boys in assisting us.

Overall a wonderful stay...

The hotel situations are great, the room is quite nice, almost similar with other mercure hotel. They had small swimming pool (indoor) and fitness center. In mu experience the staffs aren’t nice for such 4stars hotel. Like this morning when i and my friend check in, my friend asked for ‘smooking room’. The staff responded very unsatisfied, very not responsive and no smile at all which is that the key if they working on service. She just said ‘no smooking room in this hotel’ with high intonation, which is quite make us shocked. The location of this hotel is quite far from any bus station or any train station. You gotta walks around 10 min to reach the bus station, and around 15-20 mins for train station and shoppin center....
