We adored this hotel's aesthetics and concept! :) I was delighted to learn from reception that the Mumian hotel brand is a Chinese run company and hope the hotel and the company will continue to thrive. ||Location: Just a few minutes walk from Beijing Daxing Airport (well signed from the airport and no need to go outside which is always a bonus especially with the cold Beijing weather). Proximity to the terminal meant there were access to coffee shops such as Starbucks and the facilites at the airport including restaurants if needs. For those wanting to go into central Beijing, a convienient option would be the Daxing Express line which runs direct from the airport to Cao Qiao (stopping at Daxing New city in between) the journey takes around 20 minutes the standard class tickets are 35 RMB and business 50 RMB. From Cao Qiao one could access the Beijing metro line (if staying in Beijing for a few days and you wanted to sight see- I recommend getting the Beijing metro card as its super convienient for travelling- for internationals- nowadays you cant purchase it direct from the machine and will have to be purchased with your passport from a manned window counter) ||Hotel: Seriously one of the most beautiful hotels I've been to and one of my most favourites aesthetically wise. On entrance, the giant wooden doors open to reveal beautiful book collections. The reception area was large and airy and they had robot machines cleaning the floor. The venue had a very clean, minimalist look, with lots of sage of copper, artistry and had a library inspired look. Its honestly worth visiting the hotel just for its beauty if people are flying to Beijing Daxing Airport even if people do not stay here. The attached shop /coffee /relaxation area was sublime - it felt like it was an art museum rather than a hotel. ||Room: Our room on the 7th floor was non smoking (hurrah!) and again had a minimalistic, slightly Japanese/Scandic feel. The toilet had a Japanese toto toilet which I've always wanted to try (even if the novelty quickly wore off). The room had a Xiao Mian (like a homepod ) electronic assistant though it could only understand verbal Chinese instructions and had to be manually operated otherwise. The TV was huge and the clarity was good. The rooms colour was on the dark side and the spot lighting concept induced a very atmospheric feel. It was really interesting though the only issue was that the light switches were located at slightly inconvienient areas imo. I loved the mafan stone mugs. ||Food: On the day of our arrival we arrived in time for their buffet dinner - which could be purchased and reserved from the reception counter- at a cost of 178 RMB per person from their usual rate of ?228 RMB. the options included drinks such as orange juice, water, (no coffee as coffee only appears at breakfast), beer, chinese dishes such as stir fried rice, noodles, roast lamb, steak, scallops, boazi, dumplings, sushi station desserts and fruits. some of the options such as scallops were not the most obvious so had to ask the chef who were all very friendly and helpful. ||We also dined with the hotel on our departure dayfor lunch - no buffet options this time as it is a la carte. we had kung po chicken chinese cabbage vermiciilli and pork and rice- came to around 240 rmb altogether. ||I would most definetely recommend a visit here and if I fly to Beijing Daxing Airport again in the future, this hotel would be on my list for another...
Read moreVery comfy and gorgeous hotel if you need easy access to Daxing airport. But bear in mind that this is afterall a Chinese hotel brand so it is definitely catered more towards Mandarin speakers - and details showed, such as the turndown Chinese dessert and Chinese food-focus supper service. If you want to have easy access to reach the tourist sites of Beijing, this hotel is not for you as it’s around 1 1/2 hours into town. There is an integrated transport hub with subway, trains and high-speed rail connected to the airport just below the hotel, and these different types of trains can bring you to nearby Nanjing in just 30 minutes or to central Beijing in 1 hour. ||I was given an upgrade to a spacious suite with separated living and bedroom areas, featuring an adjoining huge bathroom with double vanity sinks, a bathtub, standing shower, stall, as well as a separated bathroom with its own sink enclosed. The toiletries were luxurious (Atelier Cologne) and they smell wonderful! There was also a nice travel size bottle of Colgate mouthwash. The shower had amazing pressure. The bedroom was spacious with its own television in the room, and preset lighting switches were located on both side sides of the bed. ||However, the room’s temperature cannot be set to any comfortable cool point, and as it was 40° heatwave in Beijing when I visited, my room was very warm throughout the day as sunlight shines directly into the room and you can feel the heat trapped, even with the blinds closed. The warm temperature lingered throughout the evening and only got better after midnight when the room became slightly cooler (but still not cold). ||I find the bedding to be very comfortable and the pillows were firm yet fluffy enough to give you the perfect balance. Also, the bathroom has amazingly fluffy towels, which were some of the best I’ve ever had in any hotels. ||There was an open-concept closet but it was actually abit tight with space (but considering that most people will only stay here for a night or two, it makes sense), and six nespresso capsules were provided in the minibar area opposite the closet. The teabags were from some unknown brand - and I thought these low grade tea bags were a mismatch with the overall vibe. The hotel is very generous with bottled water and gives you plenty...
Read moreBooked this hotel as I was having a 6 am flight out of Daxing PKX airport and it is directly connected to the terminal , only a few minutes walk (about 300 meters) through the “CR Land” center.||The rooms are spacious , well divided with shower and adjacent restroom, the interiors is modern with the use of wood and other fine materials. |Plenty of amenities in the room and decent offer of complimentary coffee and tea options.||The tv is huge with and HDMI outlet and possibly Bluetooth connection to pair with your devices , a few English tv channels including CGTN , CNN , National Geographic, Asia News and Phoenix.||Great amount of sockets and the possibility to control lighting and electric curtains and shades right from the bed.||Bed and pillows are comfortable and also the air conditioning was silent and efficient to maintain a nice (warm) temperature.||Check-in gas fast and check-out was just a few seconds to leave the keycard.||As it was a quick overnight I didn’t have time to check the other facilities like gym , or test the breakfast.||There’s a Family Mart just half the way to the terminal which was open at 10.30 pm in my case (don’t know the exact opening times).|There’s a flight simulator of a Boeing 737 in the main hall which seems cool , but don’t know exactly the price.||Will stay for sure again at this hotel , hopefully the management will make sure it is well maintained in the coming years as it is not always the...
