This is a hotel used by Trip a Deal on one of their highlights of China tours.|We stayed here for 3 nights at the commencement of the tour.|Our room was a good size and the whole hotel feels fairly modern. The fit out looked really good on 1st inspection, but we encountered a number of issues during our stay. These included a sink plug which got jammed, room lights wouldn't turn off and a blocked toilet on our last morning. |All issues were fixed, but the feeling was the hotel was constructed in about 2 weeks.|Staff were generally helpful and professional with the Chinese version of google translate uses each time we were at reception.|Breakfast was pretty good, however they only had the Chinese pancakes on 1 morning! |Evening food options initially looked limited but there were plenty of options close. You just need to look closely into the Grey buildings!|Overall, a reasonable stay, but probably a bit out of the way for a normal visit with it taking about an hour in a cab to get into the...
Read moreStayed on a holiday package & hotel was out of the city, although there were amenities around - convenience store, ATM, cafes/restaurants & parks/running area.
Staff didn't understand English but got by with phone language convertors.
Hotel doesn't have a bar (something outside near footpath in evening if weather ok) or restaurant (we ate breakfast in a large function room with no atmosphere). Reasonably priced local restaurants close by.
Room was a good size & came with everything needed - small fridge, jug, hard bed, good curtains, charging plugs - only issue was TV was in Chinese & mode brochure on how ti change to English language & how to access content or add English sub-titles.
Breakfast was OK- mainly eastern cuisine but basic western options available. Coffee was OK - slow machines but options.
Cool delivery robot operating in foyer which delivered items eg ordered food delivery, to...

The hotel offers unique amenities like underground karaoke, which was a pleasant surprise, but it's easy to miss if you're not actively looking for it. However, the prevalence of indoor smoking was a significant downside, making it difficult to breathe at times and leaving a strong cigarette odor in the room. On a positive note, the housekeeping staff provided fresh towels daily and maintained cleanliness despite the smoking issue. Additionally, the breakfast offered at the hotel was good, and I highly recommend trying their soup—it's worth it. Overall, The Skytel Hotel offers decent amenities and service, but the smoking may deter some guests from fully...
