The Universal Studios Grand Hotel — Hotel in Beijing

Great hotel, the staff is friendly and has a great understanding of English. Perfect place for your family! They have a kids club, a late night drink lounge called The Red Dragon (open most of the day), very good drinks with a huge verity in liquor. A huge restaurant with a wide selection of different western dishes on top of traditional Chinese cuisine called The Lotus Garden. The hotel itself has a Spanish feel and the glamour of old Hollywood with rust colored, velvet furniture and huge chandeliers. Very mixed feelings about this Universal Studios. I feel that this Universal did not have a lot of attractions. Just a few big ones, and only one thrill ride, Decepticoaster, which was nice. As there are not many big attractions, the queue time for them was around 100 minutes which is incredibly long.

The decoration of the park however is amazing, and it was great to see all childhood memories coming to life.

Had an absolutely horrible experience at this hotel. The hotel staff at the ticketing area in the basement of the hotel asked us to make a 4000 step detour when there was a door that could’ve brought us straight to our destination. I understand that the ticketing at the Grand Hotel is reserved for hotel guests, but asking guests of USB who were unaware of that to take such a route just goes to show how customer experience is not at the forefront of what this resort values.
