The hotel is away from the traditional commercial hub of Changsha. Close to the new State Government offices and the new High Speed Rail station (Changsha South) I thought it would be cumbersome to travel up to the north part of the city but in fact there is an expressway (gao jia 高架)that proved to be quite useful in getting from the south side to the north side. I would say the traffic was not bad - quite acceptable - given the travel distance. ||||The hotel itself was opened about 2 years ago I am told. A pleasant surprise, the front desk clerks were fluent in Cantonese. Seeing that Was from Hong Kong, they greeted me and helped me check in all in Cantonese. The staff were all very polite and courteous. ||||I had booked an Executive Floor room for just 1 night which was very comfortable. It was quite spacious and had a nice city view. The room was very up to date as there were ample plugs as well as USB sockets to charge my various devices. Very convenient! ||||I was able to use the Executive Lounge which was well stocked with soft drinks, coffee, tea and some light snacks 24 hours a day.||||Breakfast the next day was also well done except that the Changsha noodles I thought were a bit bland. Other than that minor complaint, the rest of the spread was what is typically offered at a well appointed hotel.||||Checkout was smooth and the trip to the high speed rail station was only about a 30 minute taxi ride. ||||All in all, a very...
Read moreBefore my arrival, I didn’t get any notice of this situation. when I was checking in, no one told me that the air conditioner can not make cool air. when I got in my room, I found the room was very hot, and the air conditioner cannot work. I called service center of the hotel. they told me the whole hotel rooms’ air conditioner can not make cool air. Their solution was helping me open the window of my room. However, it did not work. When I came back at 6 PM, it was 29 degree celsius(84.2 ℉)in my room.
The staff service is ok. CI and CO was quick. But when you need them to solve your problem, they seemed not care about it. For example, when I asked for their help of the air conditioner problem, they just opened the window of my room. They did not care whether it worked or not. And, when I checked out, no one asked me about my feeling during this terrible stay.(If it was just a common stay, it is ok that no one asked about your feeling. But after so many things happened during my stay, they still did not want any feedback of me. That makes me feel that the hotel staff do not care about the customers'...
Read morethe sink on my room has leakage problems, water was leaking out from the wall thus causing a small poodle on the floor under the sink. when i called the front desk, they sent someone immediately (quick response actually which is good) but apparently they can't do anything about it since the broken pipe is behind the wall.
my room was close to the elevator, all night long there is huge noise of elevator sounds. not recommended for light sleepers. and i stayed for two nights, when i checked in the front desk guy who was cold and aloof assured me i don't need to renew my room card cause he combined my two booking records (i booked two nights separately). then the next day around 3pm hotel called me, asking me if i wanted to extend my stay. when he found that i've already booked 2 consecutive nights, he said i need to come to the front desk to recheck in / renew room card.
overall very poor staff. exception was hotel breakfast staff, who are welcoming, friendly, like other marriott staff i...
