Sadly, this hotel is below JW Marriott's brand standard. The room internet is very slow, which makes working from the hotel difficult, the staff need a lot more training, and the hotel has no published email address that I can find. ||When we complained to the hotel about the internet speed, they suggested we connect via broadband cable. So, we purchased a cable and an adaptor. Then, when we asked the hotel engineer to help us find the broadband port in our room, he said there was no such thing. ||When I called the hotel before our arrival to let them know it was my partner's birthday on the day that we checked in, and to ask them to put a little cake or something in our room, the reception staff's English level was too low for me to be able to communicate that idea. Disappointingly, when we arrived, there was no little cake or card. When I called reception about it later, I seemed to create a big fuss without meaning to, and later, I got a call to say a cake would arrive at 2pm. The moment for a sweet surprise had passed, of course, but we waited. No cake at 2pm. We decided to go out after a while rather than waste any more time, and when we got back, a large, elaborate cake had arrived ... probably, I'll end up paying a lot of money for it when actually, I only wanted to make a little gesture. ||We did not get turn down service on one of the days. After returning late one night, we had to wait 45 mins for the staff to clear our lunch from our room before we could shower and go to bed. ||Generally, the staff seem confused and the low level of English is a problem for overseas travelers. No doubt they are...
Read moreYou would expect a 5 star hotel to be clean and provide excellent service… however we were disappointed especially after my friend recommended me to stay here since he was here a month ago. First thing I noticed was a wet floor after entering the guest lobby, thankfully they cleaned it after I told them. Second was our room was not clean, other than the basics like clean sheets and bathroom but the main table wasn’t wiped and they didn’t even vacuum the floor (especially the carpet) at check in and the day after. When we were checking in, the reception staff did not even inform us of how to access the wifi (maybe it is assumed to be common sense) nor did they let us know that we had late check out, had free mini bar soft drinks and we also had no welcome note (these small touches may seem minuscule since the TV says welcome however you would hope that an extra mile is taken at a great brand like JW Marriott). I hope these issues are able to be rectified for other guest, after all information and attentiveness is king in the service industry. The location is also not the most central but that is a personal preference given my short trip!I will have to give a special mention to the male receptionist that helped us a lot with our alipay, thank...
Read moreThe JW Marriott Hotel Changsha is a new hotel and has amazing service! Upon entering the hotel on the first floor, the service is outstanding. The door staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located on the upper floors of the building, so you have to take a lift to reach the Sky Lobby to check in. ||||The decoration of the entire hotel (entry, Sky Lobby, Executive Lounge, rooms, pool, etc) is modern and beautiful. This is one of the most stunning JW Marriotts that I have experienced!||||The rooms are well appointed and my room had a multi-function table in the middle that can be used for working, eating, or entertaining. ||||The Executive Lounge is located beside the Sky Lobby and it is huge, with plenty of seating. The staff in the lounge are very friendly and helpful. The food and drinks offered in this lounge are among the best of any hotel I have stayed! ||||This hotel is located on Furong Middle Road, in the middle of the older part of town, but it is a convenient central location (close to the river and a 20 minute ride to the south train station). ||||I highly recommend the JW...
