My team and I checked in two rooms at this hotel on 10/20. In the next morning around 11:30 am we approached the front desk and asked the young ladies there if we could check out a little late. We would like to have lunch with our visitors in the hotel before hitting the road. We didn't expect to stay longer than 1:00 pm because of our afternoon itinerary. One of the associates insisted us to check out first even though she acknowledged I could have my room by 2:00 pm due to my Gold Elite status. She seemed to not understand that a little convenience she gave to a customer would bring more business and goodwill to the hotel. Displeased, we checked out the hotel and left without eating there. The good thing was we found the best food at Shagri-La hotel. The location, food, ambiance and price, all were at their best. I now know where to eat in Changzhou.
I would have otherwise shrugged this thing off if it weren't because I found out that my staying wasn't show up in my account at all. The only thing left to prove was my reservation numbers. I don't like how this hotel operates. I have already stayed here at least three times and will come to Changzhou more for business. However, this hotel won't be my choice any more.
The room is fairly clean and has a bath tub which is not always the case in Holiday Inn. But the room smelled musty because the air conditioner shut off totally when the key was removed from the power supply slot. The swimming pool was not heated so the water was extremely cold. We had buffet dinner. The food were average except grill. The best part was the dessert. Things like Macaroons and Napoleon were not always on the dessert menu in...
Read moreI like this hotel. It is well located and provides consistent good quality rooms and amenities. Hotel food and drinks are expensive. Room service could not get my order correct in spite of talking to them twice. One night I order a salad and lasagna but ended up with only a salad. Too tired to argue about so just ate the salad. Some of the issues stem from a lack of English skills within the staff which I understand. However, if your going to be an international hotel then you need to invest in people who can communicate. The level of service in the restaurant is very typical of most I have experienced in China. The service people just seem to be going through the motions and don't show any active interest in Customer service. Had to get my own coffee. No one greeted me or asked if I needed anything. You need to send a good American waitress over to show them...
Read moreStayed here during a short business trip, and was completely surprised how good this place is, having experienced Holiday Inn's in Europe. This is definitely a 4 star hotel, clean, tidy, large rooms, and with a lot of 5 star hotel amenities. The bath room has both shower and bath tub, with other bathroom items, hairdryer, scales etc. The bed is large and very comfortable and you are provided with a choice of hard/soft pillows. Iron and board, safe and plenty of closet space. I ha a good view (room 6529), with the window offering plenty of light during the day. Very quite hotel with a decent buffet breakfast. The staff, as you'd expect in Asia, are all friendly and happy to help. All the persons we spoke to could speak in English. In summary, a great hotel for a bargain of a price. Happy to be here, thank you...
