This has not been an easy year for the hospitality industry. Staffing is one of the biggest challenges. So all ratings for 2020-2021 may not be so useful in future years. But let it be noted that after a quarter-century in China, the room service boiled dumplings were among the worst I've ever had. And tonight, despite the room service menu having only a very few items on it, the kitchen could not produce a simple sandwich. The bottled beer was room temperature, and the staff did not open it (no opener in the room, btw.) Didn't come with a glass, either.||||That said, the executive floor rooms are large and clean, same with bathrooms. Three soft drinks in the fridge and a "fangbianmian" (look it up) the only food amenity. Buffet breakfast in the lobby's "Western restaurant" is strictly Chinese save the coffee and juice (plus, no cutlery, salt or pepper on the table).||||But count your blessings: room is quiet and comfortable; wifi is fine; staff is competent (except for those guys on the room service phone)! Oh, and some people love those Japanese style robot toilet...

Read moreSo I am about to check out of my hotel stay at the Jinjiang Int’l hotel and I have to say I am impressed. From check-in to check-out, I did not run into very many problems during my stay. As a foreigner some places can make you feel uncomfortable but here, I did not feel out of place. The staff kindly spoke in English where my Chinese has failed me. Even though breakfast was closed at 10am, they let me come in with only 15 minutes left and kindly waited until I finished. Solid selection of food. At this price points I would recommend any foreigners to stay in this hotel because they definitely are of service. Good location for taxis and not too far from the bar district.
