It's only fair to reveal we were booked in as the last night of a group tour, got in very late and left very early the next morning. So this is only about the room, and getting to and from it. At that hour it was freezing cold, dark and drizzling so there was little chance to admire the grounds -- a shame, it's garden-style and probably beautiful. But getting to the room was one of the longest such walks I have had in my life, dragging heavy bags what seemed like nearly a KM from the front lobby. This made some of us a bit grumpy. ||It's modern and clean and too clever by half in its layout. The beds are on a slightly raised platform on the floor: it's necessary to step up one level, and the bed itself is low, so there's no way really to just sit on it comfortably. But those are the only downers. Of all our various rooms in Sichuan during the tour, this was the only hotel where we could actually control the room temperature to our own comfort. The WiFi worked perfectly and allowed certain access not available elsewhere. Plenty of hot water, large TV, refrigerator, and all the better amenities. ||The stay was short but the walk was lonnnnnng. Be prepared for that. That and the bed structure account for the somewhat...
Read moreNo facilities to speak of, swimming pool is locked up (even if it was open I wouldn't dare dip in an abandoned pool). It's in the middle of friggin' no where and I'm not even exaggerating. I checked out after 2 hours so if this gives you an indication of what to expect, be my guest. To be fair, the hotel did immediatelly call us to ask why the heck we just left (we lied and said we got some urgent business to take care of). Yes I just left, didn't even care about the payment, I just paid to another hotel somewhere far away from this ----hole. To be fair, it's an extremely tranquil, quiet, and peaceful place if that's what you're into. The bar is open but there isn't even crickets inside so no point in it being open if there isn't a bartender present. The room is spacious but ironically in such a remote place, the room didn't really afford much privacy; anyone can peek in from the backyard. And most disappointingly is no massage/spa, which is in my opinion the only thing that seperates the Angsana brand from other brands. No massage, so what's the point of being in the middle of friggin' nothingness? Is this hotel into some crazy...
