Chengdu Qinhuang Yongan Hotel — Hotel in Chengdu

I stayed here for a week and experienced the exceptional hospitality this hotel offers. The rooms are huge, with sweeping views of the construction going on in this new part of the city. A new Metro station recently opened one (very long) block away. Exit E is the closest to the hotel.||||I was dubious when my company booked me here: in the United States, Holiday Inns are forgettable, bargain accommodations. Not so in China - this was easily a four star hotel. Each staff member was friendly, eager to help and most spoke good-to-excellent English. When I came down with a miserable cold, each one asked how I was feeling for several days, including the General Manager, who seemingly never leaves the hotel.||||The breakfast buffet seemed endless, and the food was intriguing and approachable for a westerner. I found the coffee to be exceptional - each morning, I had a cup of coffee that was brewed from freshly ground beans and was a cross between an espresso and a French press in flavor and body.||||In terms of sleep quality, this hotel nails it with a very comfortable bed. My room had a choice of firm and soft pillows. I find Chinese rooms to be warmer than I like, but I was able to adjust the thermostat to cool off the room. One window opened, but depending on air quality, you may prefer to keep the windows closed. Note that when you remove the room key from the sensor by the door, the A/C will shut off. If you return late in the evening, your room will be warm.||||Body wash, shampoo, conditioner and bath salts were provided. Toothbrushes, a razor, cotton swabs, cotton pads, shower cap, a blow dryer, loofah, robes and slippers were also provided. As is typical, there was a kettle, instant coffee and tea bags in the room. A supply of free bottled water was provided daily.||||The restaurant in the lobby isn't open on weeknights, but there's a very good Chinese restaurant on the second floor inside the hotel. Outside of the hotel, there's a convenience store next door and an excellent hot pot restaurant outside the front of the hotel.||||I would definitely stay here again - I can't imagine a better lodging in this...

Location is not best, but if you want to walk 5 minutes and using summer way to anywhere you want to be. To reach this hotel by subway from Chengdudong speed train station will take around an hour.||Safebox is not provided, no alarm clock with stereo, no welcome fruit, my laptop also can't connect to wifi and ethernet not stable neither. No English channel TV, very standard room facility, no ironing equipment but your hotel is opposite to an expo.. are you kidding me? Charging fee for your shirt is cannot accepted. Hotel is situated near by western china iternational expo city, very convenient if you are in business trip here. ||The reason we booked this hotel is because with almost the same rate with sisters company holiday inn hotel which adjacent with this hotel, Yongan can include the breakfast. Breakfast coffee quality as good as nescafe. Array selection of Chinese food. Very good fresh selection of menu selection. ||Downside is only almost all area you will see people are smoking which nothing you can do about it. Barely can hear horn honking from a car from the street down. Housekeeping in detailing cleanliness, make up bed only concern for your bed but not with your rubbish and everything else. On my last day no tea is replenish, no bottle of water refill, rubbish still there and TV remote laying on the carpet for the rest of our stay. I love the high quality wooden furniture. Wifi not very good. If are looking for quiet place away from civilization this is the place...
