I have contacted Ibis hotels about the issues I experienced there, and they have not contacted me since, therefore I will just share my experience on here to warn others before going. ||||During my stay a thunderstorm knockout the power of the hotel, resulting in the elevators, shower, toilets and lights of the hotel not working. To make matter worse, the back up generator only lasted a few hours so the hotel was also left without emergency lighting and fire exit signs.||||The hotel bedrooms starts on the 14th floor (as it is above a KTV bar) so without the use of elevators, I was made to walk down 19 flights of stairs in order to get to reception to find out what was happening. The walk down these stairs was done by phone torch as there was no working lights in the stairwell. ||||Reception provided no help with the situation and we were told that they did not know when the power would be returned. No alternative accommodation was offered and after waiting another day for the power to return, I was forced to carry my suitcase down 19 flights of stairs IN THE DARK and book another room in a different hotel.||||I recently wrote an email to Ibis complaints, sharing my experience and hoping for some kind of compensation (as none was offered) or at least an apology, but it has been over a week and I haven't heard anything.||||This experience has ruined the reputation of the...
Read moreIt is an Accor hotel but NOT part of Club Accor. It is separately managed when i asked and was told. I paid about Y 430 / night no breakfast included and breakfast is another Y 30 for very small selection and poor quality breakfast. Room was very bare minimum and bed was uncomfortable with thin bed sheets. Toilet was the Japanese "capsule" type (molded plastic) and wall papers were peeling off. TV was okay with v limited satellite channels. The only redeeming experience was good service by a female front desk staff. My China colleagues stayed at a less expensive but much nicer China-branded hotel with breakfast included. Just to say that IBIS brand is no indication of any "international brand" affliction. I have stayed at other IBIS and this hotel is a shame to the IBIS brand although i see this is not uncommon in a market such as China where the whole society has generally "not...
Read moreThe Ibis hotel in Chengdu is a good place to stay in this amazing city. the hotel is located in a nice and convenient area, there are lots of restaurants and shops around and also it's not really far from the monuments you will want to visit, but you will need to move with the taxi, because the city is really big. the room are typically ibis style, very functional in space and comfort. the tv has got international channels, and the wi-fi it's free. the only thing they could take care of is the breakfast. i know they are in china, but they should give to western people the option to eat something diffrent like croissants, muffins, biscuits, cereals etc.. in the end, for price, location and neighborhood it's a nice and convenient place to stay. I...
