Millennium Hotel Chengdu — Hotel in Chengdu

Though I love the faciities and location of Millenium Chengdu, I was very disappointed with the various duty managers whom I thought were unprofessional and whose English was an issue. They stare at you emotionless while you explain and then they repeat what they want as though they never heard you. They stare at you as though you committed a crime vs understanding your problem, except for Romeo. Though he understood the issue , the problem in their system was never resolved. Duty managers were rotated but of no skills to assist, just the title

I had told them on day one that I would pay for the 2 additional days of upgrade (after my upgrade was used up) but they still hounded me daily including discussing this with the locals who came to pick me .....in their local language, of which I know what they are saying but I don’t know enough of the language. They lack privacy and discretion of a sensitive matter.

When i booked i had used redeemed some points online and choose to paid the rest at checkout. The frustration is my booking showed the points already redeemed and were already removed but this was NOT in my booking record at the hotel and though I explained to them and show them the booking on day 1, at checkout their system was still not rectified, very frustrating indeed. Took over an hour .. the duty manager had to call outside the country for help before she would rectify the bill, emotionless and not apologetic at all, staring at though I am at fault!

Not happy at all seeing how unprofessional they staff is and their system is not connected to th main syatem where I made my booking, if not how else my booking showed different according to their system from the email...

The Millennium in Chengdu is truly amazing, for the foreign business traveler it's such a treat. Great food service with lots of options especially for breakfast. The rooms are top tier quality but very reasonably priced. The Millennium Hotels in China are in an upper tier from the Millennium Hotels in the US. The rooms are designed with great detail, with recess lighting that turn on and off depending on how you move at night. My only regret is that I couldn't spend more time in the hotel during my business trip. My favorite place to stay in...

Security would regularly not allow us to enter because we were non-Chinese. 8 people walking in at the same time, the security consistently only stopped us. We were guests, the others were not even guests in the hotel. We told the Duty Manager, Oscar, he made excuses for the security, and Oscar even went as far to tell us that he did not care if this impacted our stay and would influence our future stays. I asked to speak to the General Manager more than 8 times, I was promised the GM would contact me; the GM never...
