Sheraton Chengdu Pidu — Hotel in Chengdu

Back again with the bicycle because it's such a great place to stay. Room is fantastic overlooking the lake; breakfast is always delicious with a wonderful choice and the entrance cafe and noodle bar have a great variety at a great price. Just a shame the Sheraton chain seems to have stopped its evening buffet dinner. The surrounding parks have been extended and make for a pleasurable walk and there's also now a lakeside cafe and evening fountain show. There's endless cycling from the hotel along greenways, by the river and quiet country roads. The swimming pool is probably one of the best in Chengdu for laps. Come...

The hotel overall was good, however i was disappointed because i felt being conned by Trip App, where i had to pay rmb1000 at the counter for the room rate, i have initially paid rmb620 online aa advertised on Trip. I was only told at the counter that the amount paid online was then security booking instead of the actual room rate. I had totally no idea and it was not mentioned on the website advert; i've booked hotel many times across china through TRIP but this was the first time i came across this. I felt being conned big time and i want to write this review to make sure others consumers did not fall...

Came back with the bicycle this time because the hotel is great and the location for cycling is fantastic. Swimming pool for laps and jacuzzi to relax in. The on site cafe has a great choice and is very good value for money. Rooms are always too hot and having just collected my breakfast and laid it neatly on the table, it was then taken away and thrown in the bin whilst I was fetching a coffee!!
