WangJiang Hotel Chengdu — Hotel in Chengdu

This hotel always tries hard to look after its customers. I stayed in the annexe which is comfortable but more like 4 star. If you want 5 star you'd need to book a suite in the main building. I liked that it was a short way out of town - there are taxis easily available to take you wherever you want to go at a very reasonable cost. However allow for traffic jams during peak times of day. My room was well serviced and the room maid even noticed that I didn't have a book mark so she left a little note and had made me one - how kind! There was a shower and bath but the sink didn't have hot water (I used the bath which was just next to sink. Breakfast had lots of choice and as a European there was certainly enough to get by. The hotel is well used by Chinese business men and ladies and there are certainly enough staff on hand to see to your needs. Not so many staff can speak English, but they are eager to please and can get help from colleagues if any situation comes up. I would visit again and consider the hotel to...

We stayed in the 5* hotel building (4* buildin currently being upgraded). Located in a big park in the SW part of Chengdu. Nice, new and clean rooms in good condition, excellent beds and bedding.||||Convenient location for panda centre visit (about 25 mins by taxi), but about 30 mins' ride to city centre due to lots of road works (including new metro line being built) currently being undertaken in this area. When road workscompleted, this issue would be resolved. In the meantime the problem is mainly to get a taxi to go back to the hotel.
