Chongqing is a city of hills and valleys and the Radisson is perched on the side of a small hill in the middle of the city. The rooms are quite large and well appointed. When we were there the hotel was undergoing renovations in the lobby area, however the staff were great at moving people in the right directions. The restaurant we used was fine with a mix of Chinese and European food.|On the day we arrived there was a medical convention being held – it was interesting watching the networking and deal making happening. I particularly enjoyed the hostesses who were stereotypical of my image of Chinese business hostesses. And my impression was that the hotel catered for quite a number of conferences.|Opposite the hotel we discovered a small boutique shopping area which, although closed when we explored it, was still interesting in terms of layout, advertising and so on.|We only stayed one night and I would classify the hotel as a solid four star...
Read moreI was given a room with King Size bed (really a Queen but very comfortable) room configuration is a bit strange with open bathroom and tub next to bed but you can partition it. Actually it turned out great because you can have a bath and watch TV||My room had balcony which allows you to enjoy some fresh air when there is any||Breakfast buffet was extensive tho no wonton. Chef May was fantastic and able to make every work and very courteous, excellent English and outgoing a welcome change from most grumpy aloof chefs. ||Good gym although opens late at 7:00 and closes at 11 (most hotels now open 24/7)||Nice boutique mall across the street but mostly hotpot there is a gelato place...
Read morePrepaid CNY602 (A$106) including breakfast. Stayed here at the end of our Yangtze up-river cruise so we could to go to Ronghui hot spring next door. Got a free upgrade to an executive room (1531) as told there were no king beds left in standard rooms. At Ronghui showed our room no & hotel door card and only paid 110 yuan entry instead of 139. Then massages were discounted by 20%. Breakfast at the Radisson Blu was probably the most extensive spread we encountered in China. The manager there (from Holland) spoke excellent English and his conversation was helpful in us orienting in Chongqing such as with getting taxis. A...
