I stayed in this hotel two times during my visit to Chongqing. The hotel is decent and surrounded by residential building / apartments and local shops. The local shops are definitely not for those who dont speak or read any Mandarin.||||The hotel itself is well maintained, lobby is decent and the cleanliness is also acceptable. Unfortunately, the service was not what you would expect when you stay in a hotel which is under IHG chain group. Staffs dont speak adequate English and when one of the staff try to explain things with their poor English but I dont understand, I saw her showing a very unpleasant body language and start to sigh quite a lot.||||The room in the hotel has a good size, bed is comfortable and the shower is also good. The only problem is that the room is quite dark as I think the light in the room is not bright enough and the AC is not cold enough.||||Breakfast is okay but a warmer service from the waitress will be very much appreciated. And of course, if they speak English.||||Room service was awful to the extend that it is unacceptable. This happened on my second stay. It was around 21:00 when I ordered pizza from room service menu. I had to wait 30 minutes until the pizza came (it is okay because the menu already inform you about the delivery time). What become the problem is that the pizza brought to my room is still raw!!I I called the customer service again and they pass the phone many times until I reached the Duty Manager (I think). He came to my room but he doesnt speak English too. I showed him the raw pizza and he took few pictures of the pizza. Made few calls in my room and did nothing to solve the issue and it takes quite a while too. It happen for about 10 minutes until the Guest Service Manager came to my room. The first thing the GSM said was 'oh, it's you sir!' (she was the person checking me in). I never know that 'oh, it's you sir!' is the correct way to address your angry guest. She explained to me that the chef in the hotel is new and he cannot make pizza (as if I care). I told her that a local store near by the hotel is also selling pasta and I bet they can make a better pizza and she replied 'maybe they are professional and we are not'. She then advised me to choose other dish from the menu and it will be better if it is local dish. I ended up choosing the Yangchow fried rice (which honestly also taste bad) and the hotel refund my money for the pizza and gave the fried rice for free.||||They tried to resolve the issue but still it is not good enough. Very disappointed with the service and I will think twice if I must...
Read moreIt was a little bit of a mixed bag. First the room was spacious snd comfortable. The big negatives was the lack of a aircon. Though there is one in the room, merely the fan works so it was very uncomfortable to sleep when the room was 25 degrees. The bathrooms are in need of a paint and refurb. I ordered room service 2 nights in a row and each night it took over 45 minutes. I had to call repeatedly to follow up where my order was and i was very disappointed by the untoasted and bland club sandwich and vegatable pizza which had potatoe chips on it. The breakfast buffet was good from an Asian perspective with many options but very poor from a Western perspective. The lack of English amongst most staff is hard to overcome and quite frustrating but at least they were patient. Location is good and overall though there were a few negatives, these can be...
Read moreThe location is convenient; near the subway station, near the tourist attractions, a few stops away from the railway station and on the same line as the airport. The breakfast was great. We also had lunch at the hotel, the prices were reasonable and I recommend the hamburger. The only problem was the steak lunch- it comes with nothing else. My husband had to complain to get chips and salad which should be standard with a steak order. They were not very flexible with a late check-out, which was disappointing. They wanted to charge for half a day but I only...
