Holiday Inn Express Chongqing University Town — Hotel in Chongqing

I stayed in this hotel from Sept 4th to 7th. In general, the location of the hotel is not most convenient. The hotel is located about 2.5 km away from subway station. There is also one bus stop 500 meters away from the hotel. The room was clean and spacious, and breakfast was above the average. However, I had some issues with the communications and customer services. When I arrived at the hotel, I was surprised that they didn't offer 500 bonus points as an option for the platinum member, and they only offered a bottle of drink. I was disappointed since I always chose 500 points as the welcome gift, and they claimed that that was how they did it. The first day I was there, the air conditioner did not work at all, so I called the front desk three times to have that fixed. It took them more than two hours to have the problem solved. The hotel located very close to some of the major universities in Chongqing. Newly built, nice room, and the dinner room has a children's play area is the first one I see. Good surroundings for jogging or eating. But the room had the sewage smell, maybe from the nearby construction/dumpster. We don't know what is going on on Day 1. So we asked the front desk to sanitizer the room but it was still the same on Day 2. Then we found out there was quite amount of fenced area where people grow their vegetables or dump garbage. this is a typical "express" hotel with only basic facilities. The location is near the hostel neighbourhood. The hotel does not serve dinner or room service so be prepared to dine outside for dinner or lunch (if the chef is in, you can have your lunch).

The hotel smells like a cigarette building. There's no enforcement of no- smoking. There's a ironing and laundry service available in the common area at the third level. No bar service so, don't plan for...
