Howard Johnson Jinyi Hotel Chongqing — Hotel in Chongqing

This is the best 5-star hotel we stayed in during our 8-day travel in Chongqing. This Howard Johnson Life Hotel by Wyndham is located at Liangjiang, 8, WEST SECTION, Taishan Jct. It is about a 17-minute car drive to Chongqing Jiangbei Airport. We stayed here during the last 2 days of our Chongqing trip. ||The hotel room is AI-smart and could listen to instructions in Mandarin. The room window curtain automatically closed up when we entered the room. But one of us tried to test out the responsiveness of the smart system by asking the robot in Mandarin to flush the toilet (冲馬桶). Instead of flushing the toilet, the robot responded: There are many types of horses (馬) and we all laughed when our group member shared his experience with the robotic system. Nevertheless, the room is cosy, and I supposed the temperature in the room is regulated by the smart system. I tried to use English to tell the robot to switch on the TV, but I received no response. It seems the robot is not bilingual. Nevertheless, we slept soundly throughout the night||The breakfast is served at the restaurant located on the 6th floor and from 6.30 am onwards. There is a wide diversified of food ranging from eggs, confectionary, fruits to pumpkin porridge, noodles, steamed buns to fresh soyabean milk, sweet potatoes, black fungus, olives, etc, a mixture of western and oriental delicacies. ||After the heavy breakfast, I went for a stroll around the neighbourhood. There were many eateries and shops just near the road junction. I studied the prices of the buns and noodles on the price boards and realized that global inflation has not affected the food prices in China. I remembered 5 years ago, I came to China, the price of one bun was 1.50 RMB, and now post-Covid, the price of this bun is still 1.50 RMB. Was it the government effective intervention or that China is self-sufficient in almost everything, and there was no need to import goods that could have been impacted by the inflationary pressure. ||There was no nearby park or attraction where I could go for a stroll, The hotel seems to be located in a residential area. Even hotel is not located in City Center but not so far from CRT station & have a lot of local restaurants surround there (All menu are in Chinese but if you want to try local foods just look at other table & let the waiter or owner know)||There is one convenience store that open 24hr, very convenience and brand new high-end department store "Mix C" just 1km away. that you can find other foods (Italian, Maxican, Japaneses or Thai food)||The room is new & clean.
