This is a nice upscale property but it has some serious flaws if you are a Westerner and can't speak Chinese. ||||Unless you are traveling with someone who speaks Chinese you're going to struggle to communicate.||||The room I was assigned was 26.5 C the first night and when I asked that they repair the aircon they sent a housekeeper to inspect and then someone from the front desk called and told me in broken English that it was functioning correct. She said it was a central system anfd that that was the best it could do.||||The second night it was 28.5 C when I got in from my meeting and they sent the same housekeeper and the process repeated. I refused to accept that so they sent Assistant Manager Smile Jiang who communicated with me via a translator. She offered to move me after accessing the situation. The new room cooled nicely to 20.5 C within an hour.||||The staff is friendly but you can't really communicate with them. The Breakfast Buffet was nice with Western options but their is no service.||||The Chinese / Japanese restaurant food was quite good but again the service was quite poor.||||There are bound to be better...
Read moreI lodged at that hotel in early June for about 4 or 5 days, the hotel is newly built and well equipped, the staff there are helpful, hospitable and nice. The room is tidy and spacious. The location is quite closed to the college town, that is to say it is little bit far away from the downtown. So if you wanna go to Chongqing for fun, I think it would not be an ideal choice, but if you got a bussiness meeting or conference to attend in the nearby region, it would be the best choice for you.
