We stayed in this hotel whilst visiting relatives in the town.||This is a very good hotel, offering a wide range of facilities such as swimming pool, spa, gym, pool and ping pong tables, business centre etc. It is located at a very central point of the new Datong city and conveniently close to western fast food chain outlets, for those not very fond of local taste.||The room was very comfortable, with two double beds of medium mattress hardness, good choice of TV programs (Chinese but with undabbed movie channel with popular titles). The carpet though was very dirty and badly stained, regrettably a very common sighting in all provincial chinese city hotels. The bathroom, equipped with tub and separate shower cubicle, was also very good and very relaxing, particularly after a long day out. Service and staff will go the extra mile, although a non chinese speaking person will struggle a lot in terms of communication.||Restaurant food very good and appetising! Breakfast is standard chinese, with very limited options for foreigners like myself.||Will be certainly returning to this hotel, even though I know that in few years from now the inevitable wear and tear will not warrant the same...
Read moreThe hotel was well located. The room exactly like it was described online. We reserved two rooms without windows for one day it was cost efficient! Unfortunately I could not reserve directly 4 breakfast online only two (one per room), we have to pay directly at breakfast for the two others one. We stop at Datong to visited one of UNESCO site and see the all Datong city. We thought more foreigners will visit this beautiful small city. No one speaks English (and that’s ok) but for a 4 stars hotel the front desk lady looks a bit lost with the check in procedure for foreigners (and I work in a 5 stars hotel in beijing so I know the procedure as a French working in China). Also, the isolation is bad, the front desk already inform us upon check in but we did not thought we will heard even the other room bathrooms flush. Thank you for this night your hotel...
Read morein a typical luxury hotel for Chinese: grandiose! Staff are very friendly and helpful to non-speaking Chinese tourists. Luckily, there was always one who could speak English. Breakfast was very good, a lot of choice of Western and Chinese food. and the buffet-dinner in the main restaurant was fabulous! The bottle(s) of wine was even included in the buffet price. The room was spacious, clean and furnished in European style with a Chinese final touch. A very nice combination.||The swimming pool was, however, not for free, but you get a discount! And what was particular about this swimming pool is the fact that they have special boxes around the pool where swimmers could do their thing (spitting in it!). It may not look nice, but it feels cleaner in the...
