I arrived/departed from Guangzhou Airport. By public transportation, the hotel is very easy to reach: I departed the hotel by taxi for a short ride to Dongguang trainstation (CNY 15), took the next departing train to Guangzhou East railway station by fast rail (160K/hr; CNY 55), and then next take MRT (line 3) from Guangzhou East railway station to Guangzhou airport (CNY 7). all took me 2 hours total from hotel doorstep to the airport, including ticketing and stopover-times. The other way arround works the same; also 2 hours. Actually the hotel is a 10 minutes walking distance to the trainstation (so you could skip the taxi-ride if not too heavy luggage loaded). ||||The hotel itself is good scoring on my minimum 3 requirements. 1e soft sleeping bed. 2nd good connecting fast internet. 3rd breakfast decent salad choice, orange juice, toasted bread, yoghurt (i was actually missing egg preparation facility: scrambled egg with veggies). Also the room is facilitated with bathroom with separated bathtub and shower cabine, as well as big screen LCD-tv. TV channels are chinese and international, including HBO. Airconditioning functioned well (could cool down to 22 Celcius with outside temperatures 30-plus).||||This hotel is also offering KTV-entertainment and all types of massage. Floors 3 through 6 are in use for this entertainment. ||||They are doing their best, but english speaking capability could be improved for lobby area staff. I managed by having the mobile number of one of the floor-managers with english speaking capability. Just ask the assistant manager on left side in the hotel Lobby.||||Will stay here next time again when in the...
Read moreProbably the largest hotel in this town. The prices are reasonable compared to the hotels in larger cities in the province. The room size is bigger as well. The hotel has seen its better days, so the furniture and carpets show its age. However, the overall cleanness was decent. The laundry service was excellent. There is a good foot massage on the 5th floor (about US $15 for almost 1 1/2 hr)... don't recommend to extend it as the the technician gets tired and there is less value for the extra money charged. The restaurant on the 2nd floor has 4-5 delicious dishes for non-meat eaters (mushrooms, eggplants etc), quite affordable. The breakfast was a mix of Western and Chinese cuisine, not splendid, but enough to get charged for the day.||||The only downside is the Internet. It worked very fast once, once it was off for an hour, most of the time it was very slow and it didn't work on the 2nd floor in the restaurant. VPN didn't work at all, at any time!||||Would recommend this hotel for travelers staying...
Read moreFor the price (less than 500 RMB) this was a okay hotel, when I entered my room it was however about 31C, the room faced the setting sun, so I closed the curtains and cranked the AC down to 18C, the room cooled after a couple of hours but struggled, much like the internet service wireless, speed was a bit on the slow side. It got cool enough to sleep, but sometime during the night it seems they turned off the AC, and as I woke up and got ready for work, my room temperature was creeping up to 27C. ||||Breakfast was okay, not to fancy and not like some of the bigger chains. Would consider...
