Chang An Hotel — Hotel in Dongguan

I stayed for 8 nights in May. I wanted a clean comfortable hotel without paying too much as my firm is not particularly wealthy. I could not have chosen better. My room was very large with a huge comfortable bed. There was a big desk with fast internet access on hand. There was an enormous TV with a good picture on the wall although the only english speaking channel available was CNN. I did manage to catch a couple of movies in English. The bathroom was large and well appointed. Everything was spotlessly clean. There was a good choice of western dishes including fresh fried eggs and omelettes for breakfast. The restaurant was very pleasant and comfortable. My room rate included a voucher for lunch or dinner every day. I used the vouchers a number of times and although the choice was limited, I certainly enjoyed it. There is also a very good specialist Chinese restaurant but it is rather expensive. Alongside the hotel the dual carriageway road has a wide tree lined pedestrian area. There is a great selection of shops all along both sides. The road goes past the large and popular Park Lane Hotel which I visited. I found the restaurant there was not as attractive as at the ChangAn although the hotel itself is very impressive. My only dissappointment with the ChangAn is there is no bar which would have been nice to visit for relaxation in the evening. There is a night club but being a married, middle aged man, I did not fancy visiting...

It has been years since my last stay. This time it was perfect. The room was huge, bathroom was huge with separate shower and bathtub. hot water and pressure are good. Carpet looks new, soft and clean. Mattress, pillow and quilt was clean and comfy. Cigarettes smell is unavoidable, it has blend into the room.
