This hotel is APPALLINGLY TERRIBLE. Hotel staff mind bogglingly incompetent. After a full day of travel they put us in the wrong room then insisted we re-gather our belongings, assuring us that we were being moved to the "nicer, executive level" on a higher floor. This was a lie. The bathroom was significantly smaller and, unlike the first room [and literally every room shown in photos of this hell hole], had no bathtub. After we'd settled back in after the room snafu we were made to go back down to the front desk MULTIPLE TIMES because they were too stupid to do the paperwork correctly the first time, preferring instead to inconvenience their guests REPEATEDLY at 9:30 at night when we were ALREADY IN BED. I have never experienced such terrible service at a hotel anywhere in the world. Rooms are outdated, run down, and smell like a mildewed gym locker... And you better believe they know it, because both rooms we were subjected to had air fresheners [that you had to find an outlet for yourself]. Non smoking rooms have cigarette burns on the furniture. Outlet near bed doesn't work [love waking up to an uncharged phone]. Only half the light switches do anything. Elevator rattles like it's going to go into free fall any moment. This place is a literal nightmare. These positive reviewers are obviously paid off locals or lunatics. Don't ever come here under any...
Read moreWe stayed here for 10 days. The room was spotless and very nicely decorated with a comfy chair and tea set. We stayed in an executive suite. The only problem I had was with the lights. You could be using the toilet and all of a sudden the lights went out in the bathroom. There was a big bathtub with a separate shower. When my husband went to sit on the edge of the tub it almost fell over and made us wonder what it was bolted to. The free breakfast was great. There was always a choice of Chinese breakfast or western. There was a cook that could make you fresh soup or fresh eggs. They have a pool too but when my husband tried to use it he found out he needed to be wearing a bathing cap even though he is bald. The only trouble I had was ordering room service one evening. You don't find too many people speaking English in mainland China. They have a bar in the lounge with karaoke and a night club on one of the floors. We were given odd looks one night when we wanted to check out the night club, probably because we were dressed...
Read moreThe room (Guest Room) we chose was so-so. Limited to 7th floor. I believe these were the rooms partially renovated from the old sauna service rooms prior to the vice crackdowns from ten years ago. The rooms were fitted with a sauna (not sure if working or not) and open, not enclosed shower. Room was smaller than the deluxe/executive rooms and did not have the amenities such as bathtub, enclosed shower, in room safe, bathrobes, disposable slippers, iron and ironing board. I would recommend paying $4 - $10 more just to get one of the other rooms. The redeeming factor about our stay was that it fell during their 14th anniversary and we were able to receive discounts of about 30% on our dinner meals. We had two separate consecutive...
