Goodview Hotel Sangem Zhangmutou — Hotel in Dongguan

I stayed here for two nights for work. We were spending our days at a factory so needed somewhere to eat and sleep.||There is very little English spoken at this hotel but we were able to manage. ||We were given rooms on the non-smoking floor with soft beds that were really comfortable. The room had everything we needed including a large bath that was great to soak in before bed.||We ate breakfast at the hotel both mornings. Western options were very limited but you could have eggs cooked fresh. The coffee was ordinary. ||Dinner on the first night was from the buffet. I started with salmon sashimi which was nice and fresh. They have a BBQ where you can select your own meat. Again most of the dishes weren't to my liking. A few cakes for dessert that I didn't try.||The second night was in the restaurant where we selected a variety of Cantonese dishes. This was much better.||The pool area looked great but it was raining during my stay. Nice view from my room of the surrounding mountains.||One highlight was the massage place put the back next to the nightclub. I had a full body and a foot massage that I loved.||I would stay here again when here...

My bad for not checking to see if they gave me a non smoking room. I didn't get one :-(. There is only one floor for non smoking. I am not sure this hotel caters to American's as all the information in the room was written in Chinese with no English translations. The bed was as hard as rock. I actually thought they may have forgotten the mattress since it was so low to the floor. In all fairness I woke up the next day and my back was fine, it was the initial shock of hard it was. Still the smoke smell was still overbearing. ||||The worst was trying to check out with my colleagues, when we checked in they mixed up our credit cards so when we checked out it was a 3 ring circus trying to get the right bill to the right person and then cancel the amount with the CC company and then rebill again. Should be interesting when I get my bill later this month!||||We did have a business lunch meeting with one of our factories in a private room in the Chinese restaurant and the food was very good. ||||I would look for another hotel that caters a bit more...
