Goodview Hotel Tangxia — Hotel in Dongguan

The Goodview Hotel in Tangxia is very well hidden it takes around 15 minutes to get to there by taxi from the nearest train station in Zhangnutou. The main building is surrounded by beautiful lake and better if you can get a room with the lake view. Very green and quiet area, the facilities are constantly renovating, it is so different from what I saw 2 years ago, always improving. Hot springs are fun even though the pool is cold in winter season there are a few hot tubs, new gym is huge and amazing, all equipment is brand new, staff service is great in both gym and pool (for indoor pool don't forget to bring a swimming cap). Room is also renovated, clean, with a super comfortable huge bed, all toiletries are best quality. Buffet dinner has variety of choice that suit any taste. I specifically love the band that plays there, they also play at Go-Go bar at around 10pm, worth to check that out. Breakfast was good as well, my only wish the staff would be more encouraged to speak English! Thanks to Guest Service staff Alice, Iris and Ricky for making it happen, they helped a lot with making reservations in such busy holiday time during Chinese New Year. The Goodview (BanShan) Hotel in Tangxia has managed to stay on top despite being around for many years. Unlike so many local hotels in China that are good when new and quickly go downhill, the Goodview has invested in significant improvements over the years and hasn't become a tired old destination.||||Besides their physical improvements, which are numerous, the Goodview's staff continues to delight. Just this morning, at breakfast, I seated myself against the window and the heat was cooking me slowly through the glass. I moved my seat and casually mentioned to one of the waitstaff that I was hot. Within seconds, she brought me over a glass of ice water without my asking, and shortly afterwards she wheeled over a portable air conditioner (!) and hooked it up next to my table to blow on me.||||To me, that's way above the call of duty, shows remarkable customer service and speaks volumes about the Goodview's staff training.||||So a huge thank you to Yang XiuPing (the waitress) for making me comfortable, and kudos to the Goodview Hotel, who remains solidly at the top...
