I recently stayed 2 nights at the brand new Fairfield by Marriott Foshan Nanhai which is located in a new shopping and office plaza in the Nanhai district right near IKEA and across from Wanda Plaza. In terms of location, the hotel is great. There are a ton of shops and restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance which was great. The area is very safe to walk even at night, and there was plenty of free parking in the garage below the hotel. ||The hotel lobby is actually not on the ground level and you exit the elevators into a large modern lobby with nice seating areas by giant windows. I have to admit that I had an issue at check-in. The hotel was so new that they didn't have a credit card machine working yet that could accept a foreign VISA card. It was very complicated at first to work a solution, but I give all the credit to the Front Desk Manager, Ms. Stephy for not giving up until she had a solution, and eventually she found one. And they were super flexible in helping me with a room until the solution could be fond. Kudos to the staff!||I think I was upgraded to a suite and it was huge and beautiful. Honestly, I've stayed in way more expensive Marriott or Westin hotels that weren't as modern and nice as this Fairfield by Marriott hotel. There was a large sitting area with sofa and TV, that I never even really used. In this part of the room there was a safe and small fridge as well. The bedroom was down a hallway of open closets which made for great storage options for clothes and luggage. Of course being China there were robes and slippers, and I actually really liked the nice light robe. I found the king size bed very comfortable and there were plenty of power outlets everywhere. There was also a small table and bench seating area in the bedroom which I used for getting work done. There was a TV that had a decent selection of English language channels including movies. ||One of my favorite things were the giant windows across the whole room. In the morning the room was full of natural light and great views of Foshan and all of the construction everywhere!||In the morning there is free breakfast that is included for all rates just like a Fairfield in the USA. I do have to say that the breakfast was fairly basic by Chinese hotel standards. There could have been better Western options. For example, they had some cereals but no cold milk...only warm. ||Overall I would highly recommend this hotel for the staff and for the rooms and for the price paid. Location is great, and the staff despite not everyone speaking the best English were all friendly and tried to be helpful. I would absolutely...

Read moreJust stayed here for a night with my wife, not bad, but also much expected for this hotel.||Hardware: Hotel Reception Located at 5F, it is quiet and fresh water available when you arrived thirsty, room is big enough and comfortable, nice bed. There are 2 cans of free soft-drinks in the mini-bar.||Services: There is no any staff at Ground floor to direct you to 5F Reception floor, staff|doesn't have any name tag, which my key doesn't work access to the floor. (Male staff) There is no apology and just said "here is your new key". Actually was my birthday day during my check-in, I did not requested arrangement for my stay, but even not having any conversation with me or saying a "Happy Birthday" upon check-in. I do not expected this kind of service as a 4 star hotel. |Upon check-out (Female staff) was polite, well greeted us and friendly during the conversation to understand about our stay experience. A kudos for this female staff for me to give an average score of this hotel.||Breakfast: Nice breakfast compare with the price. Western and Chinese selections.||Location: about 15mins walk from the metro station, shopping mall is nearby, of course about 25mins walk to the Foshan famous Thousand Lights Park. about...
