This is a great place. New. Spotless. Large room. Great bathroom. As a real bonus, the window in my room actually opened a bit. I love fresh air (not a complete oxymoron in Foshan!) In addition the staff is terrific. Everyone with whom I was in contact was friendly and helpful. OK, they could use more than one person who speaks fluent English, but with everyone else, I could communicate with writing and/or my iTranslate app. Unlike the Intercontinental, you can book a confirmed non-smoking room which is significant. ||||A special thank-you to Boris He who paid special attention to making sure that the ride from the airport I had requested was confirmed. He contacted me several times via email prior to my arrival to be sure that all the details were in place. And during my stay he was the fluent English speaker. ||||Breakfast was fantastic with a selection of Chinese and western dishes. Everything I sampled was delicious. Not an extensive array but certainly enough variety to keep most people happy. ||||I mentioned some rough edges. They could use an ATM on site. I understand that the typical method of paying for things from restaurants to retail is gravitating away from cash to "phone pay" systems. However, I still needed cash and the closest ATM was about a mile away. There is also still construction going on in the hotel. Since I can make it only till mid-afternoon for several days after flying from the USA, I was back in my room by 3:30 or 4:00. Sleep or rest was "difficult" since there was all kinds of power tool racket coming from what seemed like the room directly above me. I could also hear it in the lobby. This stopped by around 6pm but was still annoying. As someone else mentioned, there is no retail store in the hotel. I didn't need anything this time around, but it would be a problem if I did.||||But what I described above are minor inconveniences that did not really detract from my visit. I really liked the Hyatt House and staff and will definitely stay there again when I...
Read moreGreat Hyatt Place - incredibly large and spacious - but very inconveniently located from major transportation areas. Staff here are friendly and take good care of their guests. The breakfast was good, but did not include as much variety (especially for vegetarians) as I've had at other Hyatt Place hotels in southern China (such as Shenzhen). The evening menu was better than I expected - especially as I was there during CNY! I would be happy to stay here again if I was in the nearby area, and will recommend it to others if they're traveling through that...
